Federal agents arrest four Mexican men in tractor-trailer smuggling case where 53 Immigrants Died

AUSTIN, Texas — Federal agents arrested four Mexican men in Texas for the deaths of 53 illegal immigrants who died after being abandoned in an overheated tractor-trailer in San Antonio last summer.

The departments of Justice and Homeland Security announced Tuesday, exactly one year to the day of the tragedy, that four individuals had been indicted on charges of their roles in a human smuggling operation that led to the deaths of 53 people and left 12 others injured. The four men were taken into custody during law enforcement operations in San Antonio, Houston, and Marshall, Texas, earlier in the day.

The men indicted were identified in court documents as Riley Covarrubias-Ponce, aka Rrili and Rilay, 30; Felipe Orduna-Torres, aka Cholo, Chuequito/Chuekito, and Negro, 28; Luis Alberto Rivera-Leal, aka Cowboy, 37; and Armando Gonzales-Ortega, aka El Don and Don Gon, 53.

The Cost of Illegal Immigration to American Taxpayers 2023 (fairus.org)

There are claims that there is a net benefit, but this is not true. Bogus asylum claims, such as work or money, are widespread.

Recent analysis by FAIR found that illegal aliens and their children cost the US taxpayer $182B a year.

This community contributed about $31B to the economy.

Thus the net effect is a cost to the taxpayers of about $151B a year.

This is a 30% increase from 2017.

They estimate about 21 million illegal aliens (plus children), each incurs a cost of about $8776 annually, which is $957 annually per taxpayer.

Tax revenue generated by illegal aliens cover 17% of the costs they incur.

The biggest cost item is education - it costs $77B/yr to educate the children of illegal aliens.

$47B/yr is devoted to costs within the justice system. Arrests, incarceration, border security, removal, taking care of illegal alien minors etc.

$41.7B/yr for health care - includes unpaid hospital expenses, Medicaid fraud, as well as state programs like MediCal.

$13.6B/yr in welfare - cash, food, school meals.

Biden administration is using "immigration parole" to ship people into the country and once they are here, they automatically get tapped into these benefit programs.

Illegal Alien Has Convictions for Sexually Abusing Two Kids Overturned

An illegal alien convicted of child sex crimes has had those convictions overturned by a Kansas judge after state prosecutors apparently filed the wrong charges against him.

Josue Manuel Arita, an illegal alien from Guatemala, was charged in 2019 by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office with two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy and two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

According to prosecutors at the time, Arita sexually abused a seven-year-old boy and his eight-year-old sister on multiple occasions while the children stayed at his residence. About three years later, Arita was convicted on all four charges initially filed against him.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has restarted admitting foreign nationals into the United States via a Port of Entry near Laredo, Texas, through its migrant mobile app despite reports that those using the app were being extorted.

As part of its expansive Catch and Release network, Biden’s DHS started allowing foreign nationals to use the “CBP One” mobile app — enticing those in Mexico who are pregnant, mentally ill, elderly, disabled, homeless, or crime victims to schedule a border appointment to get released into the U.S. interior.

The water-based barrier, designed by the company Cochrane USA, will cost the state $1 million, according to Texas Department of Public Safety director Steve McCraw.

Last month, McCraw said he believes the barrier will prevent migrants from even attempting to cross the waters of the roughly 328-foot-wide river, known to be home to numerous alligators.

“We don’t want anybody to get hurt,” McGraw said.

“In fact, we want to prevent people from getting hurt, prevent people from drowning.”

Earlier this week, law enforcement officers in Texas pulled the bodies of four drowned migrants, including an infant, out of the Rio Grande.

None of the victims possessed identifying documents and their identities remain unknown, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety official.

Migrant Groups Continue Crossing Texas Border Despite Intense Heat

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Several groups of migrants crossed the Rio Grande, immediately surrendering to authorities. The largest of the groups, nearly 50 in total, surrendered to Texas Department of Public Safety troopers around midday on Sunday as Breitbart Texas looked on. Temperatures at the time hovered at 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The group sought shelter from the sweltering sun as the troopers guarded the group of migrants as the waited for the arrival of Border Patrol transport vehicles. The migrants crossed into an area that allowed them to avoid state criminal charges of criminal trespass. Instead, the Border Patrol will process the groups hoping to be released inside the United States to pursue asylum claims.

Republicans Slip Massive Foreign Worker Expansion into DHS Funding Bill

GettyImages-1407571341-640x480.jpg

House Republicans have slipped a massive foreign worker expansion into their Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spending bill, a blow to the GOP’s promise to protect the nation’s working class from powerful special interests.

After markups and hearings, Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee approved the DHS spending bill which would blow the lid off blue-collar migration caps to the United States, spurring an influx of foreign visa workers in the labor market with whom working class Americans would have to compete for jobs.

“Who represents the working class? This bill suggests it’s not necessarily Republicans,” Jeremy Beck of NumbersUSA told Breitbart News.

Specifically, the $91.5 billion funding measure would loosen H-2A visa rules so that more industries related to the agricultural sector could import foreign workers and rewrites the program so that jobs do not have to be seasonal or temporary.

The H-2A visa program, as currently implemented, allows U.S. farms to annually outsource an unlimited number of American agricultural jobs to foreign workers, who can extend their stay for up to three years.

Fraud and abuse are widespread across the program, with one recent lawsuit accusing a western Michigan farm of trafficking foreign H-2A visa workers into blueberry picking jobs where they were paid slave wages and housed in egregiously poor conditions.

EXCLUSIVE: How the migrant crisis is sparking an American Civil War: TODD BENSMAN's Dispatch from a Militarized Texas Farm - where Biden's Federal Agents are Sabotaging the state's Desperate border enforcement

  • President Biden's Border Agents leased a private pecan farm on the U.S./Mexico border where they are allowing illegal immigrants into the U.S.
  • In response, Texas officers barricaded the farm's gate, strung barbed wire around the property and destroyed a ramp leading migrants up from the river
Few places along our 2,000-mile southern border with Mexico more perfectly illustrate America's utterly dysfunctional immigration policy than a remote, private pecan farm in Eagle Pass, Texas.

At this sprawling ranch - owned by Hugo and Magaly Urbina – on the banks of the Rio Grande, President Joe Biden's federal Border Patrol agents are locked in a bizarre daily struggle with Texas Governor Greg Abbott's Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Mexico’s National Guard Escorting New Migrant Caravan Headed to U.S. Border

Migrant-Caravan-640x480.jpg

Mexico’s National Guard is escorting a new migrant caravan traveling through southern Mexico as the group makes its way to the U.S. border. The new caravan comes when tensions continue to build in the U.S. where Texas has set up barriers on the waters of the Rio Grande to deter migrants from making the dangerous Rio Grande crossing.

The caravan consists primarily of Venezuelan migrants along with a small group of African and Haitian migrants that joined the group this week. The migrants are trying to make their way north from the state of Chiapas, which borders Guatemala, to reach Mexico City. The caravan will then continue its journey to the U.S. border.
