That's an ugly business practice they have going on. Seedy.

If AJ comes back, we fans ought to set up a kick starter...the day after his last game, of course. :)

This article seems pretty relevant to Simcox. The kid was a high profile SS that hit 10hrs and ended up with 5k. Seniors that turn down any money are a taking big financial risk. That decision has to be more than about cash .

I certainly see how one could feel that way.

I will be looking at long-range weather forecasts beginning New Years Day. We can't afford to have the weather problems in 2016 that we had in 2015. We need a lightning quick, Mississippi State like start.

By mid-March I was ready to beat Al Gore or Michael Mann in the head with a club like one of those baby seals you saw in old ASPCA commercials.

CDS on the radio talking about the draft...says Betts isn't a done deal...slim chance...

Davila was 85-87 MPH when we signed him...

I'll post a link to the interview later, 2nd half coming up...

Apparently Xavier Turner has also signed. He was never gonna be eligible anyway. Stay out of the Casinos kids.

Obviously our biggest hope is Betts, so i wanted to do some number crunching.

Tampa Bay's pool is $6,591,300. So far they have used up $936,400 in which they have signed their 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th round picks. So they have $5,662,400 left to give to thier 1st, 2nd (Betts), 3rd, and 5th round picks.

The total pool for those is $5,158,400 between those picks. meaning they are about $500,000 to deal out to those picks over slot. Of the picks remaining 1st (HS SR), 2nd (HS SR), 3rd (College JR), 5th (College JR). So all of those picks have leverage.

Betts is wanting $2.2 Million, so there is a chance if he sticks to that number that Tampa may not have enough in their pool to get him. Whitley alone take up $2.9 million of that $5.1 if he signs at slot. So, to get to 2.2 million, Tampa is going to need to save about $1.7 Million more dollars. Also, the people drafted around him are not getting overslot that much, if any at all. There is a chance....

Also, in my opinion, Serrano would not bring it up if there was not a decent chance he doesnt sign.

9th-rder Taylor Lewis signs w/@Braves for $200k (slot 270 = $160,100). Florida RHRP, low-90s sinker & slider. @MLBDraft

Rays 3rd rounder signed for $697,500 which is 20k over slot. So if whitley( 1st rounder) signs for slot, that leaves only 2.1 left in pool for Betts and the other draft pick. (Or less assuming they have not gone over slot in lesser picks below round 10)
