There are reports that Mark Teixeria is close to making a decision to who he will play for next season. You finalists: Angels, Red Sox and Nationals. His most important criteria is he wants to play for a winner

Looks like Tex has it down to the Angles, Nationals, & Red Sox.

Angles offered 8yrs. 160mill.

Nationals offered 8yrs. 160mill.

Red Sox offer isnt not known but rumors have it at 8ys. 175-180mill.

If the reports are true that he wants to play for a winner then i would assume its down to the Angles & Red Sox. If thats the case does he want to stay at a place where he is familiar with or go for the money??

IMO i think he goes to the Red Sox.

No offense, but he's not really all that familiar with Anaheim. Unless you are talking about playing there so often as a Ranger.

well more familiar with the Angels than he is with the Red Sox.

yeah, but it's not like there was anyone that didn't know Texiera was nothing more than a player on a temporary loan for the season.

He's from MD, so he has no real ties to any of these teams most likely.

In a knee jerk reaction, Furcal goes back to LA for 3,33 mil.

Reports coming out the teams interested are the Angels, Yankees and the Dodgers. Already Scioscia has endorsed Manny for his services.

Red Sox reportedly in the lead for his services.

Sources: MLB.com and ESPN's Buster Onley.

The Red Sox dropped out of the bidding so

YOUR FINALISTS:

THE NATS AND THE ANGELS.

I don't think the Sox are done, i think they're playing Boras' game against him. They've made their max offer, 8/180-190. Unless Arte Moreno tops it, the Sox have the top offer at this time, IMO.

I see the spectre of the Pinstripes being played in the hammer down negotiations, and i think Henry and Lucchino called Boras' bluff. Hank and Hal want to win, but i can't see them committing another $200m, nor do i see Moreno doing so, nor Texieria going to Washington, remember, he wants to win.

The Pinstripes are only whispering to drive Boston's cost up, as their goal is the man-boy left fielder, not Texieira.
Mark will be a Sox by the new year, BANK IT.

Note: I'm a Sox fan, you all know that, and im sort of confused by the whole deal, but thats what i see happening. Lowell and Lugo moved with lots of cash for a solid defensive SS with no attitude problem, and a minor league catcher.

I wish my Dodgers would start acting like the large market team that they are and get something done. The McCourt's are the biggest tight wads in baseball. They act like they're running the Pirates yet the Dodgers are 3rd in attendance. C.C. Sabathia wanted to pitch in California and they were too cheap to give him an offer. I'm not sure Manny will be the same guy that was red hot for the Dodgers last season once he gets his money but they badly need a power hitter.

Who in the world hasn't open their books in the NL. Teams like the Mets and the Dodgers should be the big spenders in that league but they are really not; they just spend big on a player or two.

That is why baseball needs Mark Cuban because that guy will open up his checkbook to get the best players if possible.

If the Sox land Teixeira, rumor has it the Yanks may shell out some dough to get Manny in the Bronx.

I hate the yankees. They are ruining baseball. I seriously hope everything that is bad in the world happens to them....and I mean that.

I cant remember who it was...some comedian I think, had the best saying about the Yankees. He said " Rooting for the Yankees would be like being in Vegas and rooting for the house."

Okay look i have been a baseball fan for 10+ years. I have followed my team through the worse times & great times. But what the Yankees have done this offseason has made me decide that i will not watch baseball anymore! I am so pissed right now!!! The economy is HORRIBLE, you have people in America struggling to keep their houses & cars. You have people in America working their asses off 5 days a week 8-10 hours a day probably making just $8.00 an hour & probably just bringing home 20,000-30,000 dollars year. But yet MLB allows the New York Yankees to spend 500 MILLION dollars on 3 players, that play this game for FUN. It is something they LOVE to do. That is HALF A BILLION DOLLARS people!!! But yet they have to call on New York City to help them pay to finish their 1 Billion dollar stadium. It is just a freaking shame it really is.
