'24 MO DL Williams Nwaneri (Mizzou commit)

I don't know, let's ask Manning and Nico, or Manning and Milton, or Manning and Dobbs, or Manning and fill in the blank.

Relationships like that happen everywhere. It's very common for alumni to come back during recruiting visits and during the off-season.
The interaction they have with Manning isn't coaching. They work his camp. Only the coaches themselves are technically allowed to on field coach. Now, I'm sure the rule probably gets broken, like most rules do, but they can get in trouble if caught.

At 18 500,000 plus is millions
Hell at 38 that’s a **** ton of money for me
Free education, food and room and board and 1000 a week is what they should get and be happy

No one cares. Plenty of threads for you to cry about your distain for nil. In the meantime we need to attract the best talent possible and if 500k is what that takes, so be it

True
But this isn’t the next Tom Brady or Peyton we’re talking about with this guy

Coming out of HS Brady wasn’t Brady and Manning wasn’t Manning yet. This is college football now. NIL is solely potential based. Nobody knows what’s gonna happen. For all we know Nico may be a bust. But when you see the big boys paying up, you either keep up or get left behind. For all we know Nwaneri could be the next Aaron Donald.

Still doesn’t change my opinion that’s it’s ******** these guys only go to a school for the money
Those guys hunting money at this age don’t always pan out regardless of stipulations on the agreement
I’d rather have a guy that wants to be here and worries about money when he’s a sophomore or junior and actually good

I'm more talking about "life" coaching on how to get to the NFL.

I'd bet my mortgage Manning has put UT qbs in contact with off-season trainers, agents, or other people necessary to maximize success in that process.

The chances of making it to the NFL are so astronomically low, I'd want to do everything possible.

And Tennessee has put plenty of DL into the league as well.

Word is Mizzou won’t be beat on NIL offerings. They are going all in on Nwaneri like they did with Burdan last year. We just upped our offer to over $500K to get in the same ballpark with Mizzou. I know we want to dump on opponents, but Mizzou has developed some DL over the years compared to the talent level they have coming in. Don’t sleep on them being the choice. Glad our coaches put in a higher bid. This kid is really good.
That was then...

The fact that they are 'dumping' money on a couple of one or two in state kids, optics wise, is the equivalent of strapping on your bugs bunny jammy pants - and Tazmanian Devil slippers at 11AM.

They not be givin' up, but they're close.

-sniff sniff-

Yeaaa, but you out that in hands of some folks, esp those that may not have had same luxuries growing up - and I dont know your situation. That's a recipe for a baad deal.

I know at 17 or 18, for example, had I $500K in the bank - Id have retired from anything and either gone on the Professional Bass Fishing Tour, or, gone into Law Enforcement - and become a game warden.

Assuredly, there are some folks who arent so good with their money. Id like to see mandatory money management classes for folks with NIL deals.

That opinion might as well be Tinkerbell in Never-Never Land. What's the point of carrying that strong of an opinion that only exists in fantasy land?

You're always gonna have people, no matter the age who crave $.

Back to my point. Missouri five-six years ago was still new kid on the block. Had a good coach. Each year they fall further behind, in ... every ... single aspect. I truly think they are in a Vandy wedged sinkhole, destined for the floor.

Their facilities, coach, State, program is meh. The suck of sucks. I'm not concerned here at all.

In my fantasy land, I'm dating 3 super models and had a fling with Scarlett Johansson. It might be pointless, but it's still fun.

Well, yes, but we we were talking about why it would matter to a recruit if a school put a position in the league and that staff wasn't part of that school.
I thought we were talking about reasons why he might choose mizzou over UT? The statement of they’ve had some past success putting DL into the league. Under a different staff. That’s a wash because we have too, under different staffs. BUT we also have a current staff with a history of putting DL into the league.

No one cares who you’d rather have. You’re a poster on volnation with no credibility and an extremely idealistic view on building a roster.

We get it, you’d build a roster “with honor” and “integrity” and all that other crap. You’d have a sun belt roster that would get embarrassed by the teams full of guys you’re complaining about. But hey! At least your whole team would be there “for the right reasons” even though you’d get skulldragged every single game.

Well, he isn't a QB, so that is painfully obvious. However, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady weren't necessarily the next Dan Marino and Joe Montana, either...until they were.

If this kid is the next Aaron Donald or DeForest Buckner, he's well worth the investment.

No **** he’s not a QB
You guys are cracking me up today in here
So serious and quick to cut a guys throat for not agreeing with them
I’m sorry I’m not throwing 500 grand out to 17 yr olds to play football, maybe if I had your money I would

He would be loaded with 5* heart though and that’s what really counts.

It’s your money if you contribute to Spyre but that is the reason people contribute….. to get the number one player in the country.

They no longer have that DL coach that developed all those players. We have Garner.

I get that
I just think it’s crazy to give it to unproven HS srs when the college jrs and srs should be the ones getting it. Established players
This guys is t worth more then Joe M
