Mo permanently ineligible

No because that would mean the NCAA would have to vacate all of Bama's wins last year from playing Fluker.

Ironic that you post that, given the circumstances of Mo/Clinton-Dix.

Obviously a punishment for UT has no bearing on what the punishment is for other schools.

If he can legitimately afford the car, why did he need a couple hundred dollars?

Take B.Pearl for example he should have lied to the bitter end. He would have came out better i bet you.

Even if you get caught it will only result in you getting the same punishment you would have received for telling the truth up front. By denying any wrong doing you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's very sad.

Bama and UT should forfeit wins. USC did for the very same thing. Even lost schollys and a championship.

Yet, no punishment for Bama and none for the guys that have graduated including Bray. Be thankful Bama was included in this, otherwise, a different outcome. Hypocrisy drips from the veins of the NCAA.

Yet, let's just punish Couch for being honest, the only guy that was. SMH

Let's not forget the 2 MSU players, Cox and Bumphas.

It is outside the statute of limitations for NCAA to be able to punish the universities. So they went after the players. That is all they were allowed to do. Some get off and some dont. Mo didnt make it. That is life. It ticks me off too.

The other thing that gets me is the time to decide the punishment. It took them 2 weeks or less with Manziel and Haha, but 7 weeks for Mo?

Can I get some cheese with all the whining in this thread..

All mo had to do was follow the rules plus this is over like a few hundred dollars.. Did that really make a big diff in his life???

The reason for this decision is Mo is the perfect scape goat. They wanted to make an example. But they don't want to do that too a " big time" player at a school in contention. That could hurt their bottom line. Couch is a senior starter at a nationally known school that is down and not in contention at the moment. By cracking down on him they appear to be tough on this sort of thing without endangering their wallet. I doubt the NCAA has anything personally against the Vols. We just aren't as profitable to them at the moment than some other schools. Always follow the money.

Most are not defending him. He made a bad choice and is paying the consequences. That's life. The problem it's that The NCAA is not consistent in the punishments they hand down. "Big time" players at schools in contention get less harsh penalties. The rules should be applied to all the same way. That isn't happening and hasn't been for some time.

Let me get this straight Mo gets the electric chair and Manziel gets a half game suspension? Sounds about right huh?

At least we won't be seeing anymore "When is Mo coming back" threads now.........

The NCAA didn't make Mo take the money

I know they are inconsistent, but don't put yourself in that place. Mo can't blame anyone but himself

no, he can't. But we sure as hell can. I'm pissed that the NCAA plays favoritism without being held accountable.

How many years did they investigate USC? Money from an agent is still money from an agent. Only difference is dollar amount. They could have hammered Bama for this.

they don't appear to be tough but crooked. No one will argue they look tough here.

Mo took money and that makes him a professional.

Sure what Manziel did and the Alabama player got away with murder.

That does not make what Mo did right. Time to move on.

We all know he broke the rules, this isn't really about him breaking the rules, but its about two players, at two different schools. One at the top of the college football world, and that player gets a slap on the wrist.. the other, a player at a struggling school and he is ineligible for the rest of the season. Eventhough, both players did the same thing... now tell me that is fair..
