Mike Bobo actually had the better offense in 2014... his last year at uga. They scored 41.3 points a game while Monken's best was last year where they scored 41.1 points a game. That's not to mention that 2014 didn't have the fire power they do now. I wouldn't sleep on Bobo just sayin. You're forgetting The Todd Monken is gone and dumbass hired Mike BoBo to replace him.
In 2014 they had a HEAVY rushing attack because they had 4 NFL caliber RBs on the roster. They only averaged 199 yds through the air. Todd Monken is definitely a better OC and playcaller than Bobo. Most UGA fans even agree and don’t really want Bobo.Mike Bobo actually had the better offense in 2014... his last year at uga. They weren’t struggling for talent….. they had Gurley, Chubb, and Michel.Mike Bobo actually had the better offense in 2014... his last year at uga. Was it really better though? They lost to USC(lite), UF, and GaTech. They had to have the first teamers still playing late in games and played multiple close games that they won. With all that, your still talking about 2014 UGA scoring a whopping 3 more total points stretched over 15 games to do a per game average. I get that last year's team had a much better defense, but that offense could have scored a lot more points if the coaches decided to do so. Take 2022 Ohio St. for example. They still had starters playing mid way though the fourth quarter in multiple blowouts. Kirby chose not to do that. I'm no UGA fanboy, but Monken was much more innovative than Bobo.Mike Bobo actually had the better offense in 2014... his last year at uga. He will still do well bc of talent but they did lose some innovation. Was it really better though? They lost to USC(lite), UF, and GaTech. Of course, we're going to have to be a lot better in coverage no matter who their QB is.Beck is definitely a better pure QB but the reason Stetson remained in the starting lineup for all that time was his best ability: to move. Not going to hold Beck back that much but Bennett was able to extend the pocket and make plays against anyone. So if we can get pressure on Beck, we might be able to land some sacks. On the other side tho, we're going to have to be a lot better in coverage

We don't have nearly enough talent to consistently get pressure against Georgia with no blitzingJust getting pressure will be enough
Games where we got consistent pressure besides the cupcakes games where we got good pressure and blew them all out.
Pitt (27 points, but gave them incredible field position all game long and we killed their QB's. Defense won that game)
LSU (13 points)
Kentucky (6 points)
Clemson (14 points)
Yeah our secondary isn't great, but in every game we didn't sit back in the worst zone defense ever and Banks let us be aggressive we had a very good defense. If we got consisten pressure all year we play UGA in the title game.
We need the d-line to get pressure without blitzing and our db's need to stop being soft and learn how to tackle.
Not yet. We could take some major strides in that direction (for future years) with this recruiting class. Great defenses have great pass rushes AND great secondaries. They feed off each other. That's the goal over the next few seasons. We don't have nearly enough talent to consistently get pressure against Georgia with no blitzing
Who we were 2-6 against as their OC. UGA's problems in those days (2007-14) were that their defenses sucked (coached by Willie Martinez and Todd Grantham 7/8 years) not their offenses. We were glad he left down there at the time and we were right, because they averaged about 15 points less per game the next year and beat them. You're forgetting The Todd Monken is gone and dumbass hired Mike BoBo to replace him.

That’s a tad revisionist history…. First I don’t remember anyone celebrating him leaving…..2nd…. They were averaging over 38 ppg and Chubb was averaging over 8 ypc and had close to 800 yards rushing until he got hurt after 2 Carrie’s against Tennessee.Who we were 2-6 against as their OC.
