'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

Gonna laugh pretty hard when M-I-D goes 5-7 this year (giving them credit for beating UF), and Nwaneri and Wingo are like "nah".
You might just be kidding, but I think the season could have some impact here ...

Missouri is going to suck balls. Tennessee could very well beat them 66 to 20-something for the 3rd straight year.

He and Nwaneri need to strongly consider the short term financial gain going to Mizzou (positive) versus the potential long term financial loss of going to Mizzou (big negative), since it is very likely they won’t get developed as well as they will at other programs.
These are kids. They are also kids who don't seem to have someone to guide them about long term financial ramifications(at least WN). I'm sure this is their general mindset....I can get paid right now to go to Missouri, but if things don't work out then I can transfer and my stock will only increase. There doesn't seem to be anyone to point out the potential pitfalls of this immediate cash grab. We live in a microwave/air fryer world now, so it may not matter anyway. The younger generations tend to be more about entitlement and instant gratification.

If he plans to be an EE, getting paid 4 months sooner "shouldn't" be a huge hurdle unless Mizzou's offer is significantly more.

I understand WN taking the money especially since he is planning to be a summer enrollee and Mizzou outbidding everyone else.

I still like our chances. Plus our play on the field this year will definitely help.

Can’t wait to skulldrag those MF’ers and the dork in CoMo yet again. No mercy
Actually, I take my 'like' back, B O 1 Oh. I forgot that my feelings are still hurt from you not acknowledging, at all, my sincere heartfelt post for the 5 year anniversary, of the biggest lie you've obviously ever told to snag a pretty one like that.

🙂
Go Big Orange, dude.

Hahaha my guy! Convinced her to go on a cruise with me next week to the Bahamas. And when we get back, a snook fishing trip in Palm Beach! I’m a lucky man!

Is there any other recruit we’ve been fighting/had fought them for? Cmon man. Why are you trying to start narratives?
He forgot about last years battle and the fact we have 2 4 star OLineman from Texas this cycle. Yeah we beat them for Jordan Matthews last year when all the national experts had him going to Texas. GBO!!!!!

Looking at their schedule, 1-11 is not an unrealistic possibility if they get into close games with some of the less talented teams on their schedule like MTSU, Memphis, and Vandy. That being said without DRASTIC improvement they'll struggle to make a bowl game this year. Their schedule is much more difficult this year.

Plenty of folks saying during his recruitment that this kid seems to have a good head on his shoulders... I am hoping that is the case, because if he is saying having a great QB is of huge importance, then it's us and TX... And then our Offense overall is better for him. If it's just for the bag, then he'll end up at Mizz and turn into a Dorial Green Beckham type kid who fizzles. We'll see soon. Need him back on campus.

Missouri's law clearly gives a favored right to a HS S-A who sign with an instate school while denying that right to a HS S-A who signs with an outstate school. Under equal protection NO state can deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. It mandates that individuals in similar situations must be treated equally by the law and under Missouri's law they aren't.
Is it a right to play high school football? pretty sure the answer is no.

is high school football ever considered "commerce"? also pretty sure the answer is no.

what protection is being denied? Is a kid who goes to an out-of-state university and doesn't receive the Missouri Lottery Scholarship being denied a protection or a right? Of course not. What about Missouri charging out of state kids a higher tuition, are they being denied? There are different, accepted, standards when it comes to universities and geographic distinctions. and those involve direct commerce, not whatever people want to say high school football is.

What is the State of Missouri doing to ban out-of-state NIL from instate S-A? Throwing them in jail? Fining them? Kicking them out of school? Answer is no to all of those. those would be denied rights/protections. football is neither a protection or a right.

the COMMERCE side of NIL is NOT effected at all. Instate or Out-of State NIL, not effected. any Missouri student could sign any NIL deal they want tomorrow, start receiving money same day and the state of Missouri would do nothing to that NIL deal.
^that is the commerce side

eligibility to play football is a COMPLETELY separate issue, and I have yet to see any case of the SC going in and telling any state they can't make geographic considerations to eligibility. in fact, if anything, what I have seen be struck down in courts is kids trying to play elsewhere AGAINST the geographic rules set in place. Its established that the state can make rules on eligibility and take pretty much whatever they want into consideration. Unless recipients of NIL become a protected class somehow, its not an issue, and its certainly not a commerce issue.

Here's the law as written which clearly state a limitation on NIL discussions to instate schools. If you either see the issue or you don't.

(1) A high school athlete who competes on an interscholastic athletic team in this state that is sponsored by a public school or by a private school whose students compete against a public school's students may earn or attempt to earn compensation from the use of such athlete's name, image, likeness rights, or athletic reputation as provided in this section, subject to the following:

(a) A high school athlete shall have the right to discuss earning or attempting to earn such compensation before signing an athletic letter of intent or other written agreement only when having discussions about potential enrollment with a postsecondary educational institution in this state; and

(b) A high school athlete shall have the right to earn or attempt to earn such compensation only after signing an athletic letter of intent or other written agreement to enroll in a postsecondary educational institution in this state.

The discussion of, or earning or attempting to earn, compensation from the use of such high school athlete's name, image, likeness rights, or athletic reputation as provided in this section shall not be construed to be a violation of any rules and regulations a high school student and high schools are required to follow to maintain and protect a high school athlete's high school eligibility to participate in high school athletics in this state
