Monday Regional Finals discussion thread

Where were the worries about logistics when the Kentucky hosted? Wasn't that a cluster?

I fear we will be the payback for the Hoosiers being shafted.

This statement is a pure PR speak to not upset the NCAA. How you rip this away from a national seed for a Big 12 school is unacceptable.

I'm not going to argue with semantics. I was not randomly saying that the bid was far better. That is what was said in Knoxville Sports radio today. Additionally, it's not that kind of bid. It's not an auction to the highest bidder. It's a bid that says:

1. Can you physically host the event? (are there any conflicts with other events that would prevent you from using your field and facilities)
2. Are there enough hotel rooms available for visiting teams and guests (see debacle with KY last week. Is Taylor swift coming to town the same weekend)
3. What is your bid for the ticket sales guarantee
And we check every box. I heard Basilio, I also talk to one of the same guys he does. SEC venue, better city, hotels, I could keep going. If they outbid Danny White something is wrong.

Hattiesburg is smaller than Terre Haute by 10,000 people population size, yet I’m supposed to believe Hattiesburg will be a better choice than Terre Haute??? I hate this for ISU.

Stinks for the ISU team without a doubt., but have to at least give the AD credit for realizing the magnitude and the commitments already in place . Kentucky *should* take a page from this book...

we can agree to disagree. nothing wrong with seeing it differently.

TBA? SRO only venue... with seats. Or a theater in town.
You could actually see the game from part of football practice facility. I’d put temporary stands in RF area and reserve that for season ticket holders for the seats in Section E, A, and D that need to be relocated for Supers.

Huge block party outside again?

I think preacherman mentioned it but would be awesome to have busses in right field with seats on top similar to what Clemson has

That would be a cool idea until someone over served toppled off said platform. 😀🍊👍😃👊🍊Fun fact. The area near the bus in Clemson is the only area on campus where alcohol can be served. Technically it’s a private club where they can have alcohol.

Weren't there food trucks and vendors there last year during the block party?
Yet but that area will likely be for ticket holders only like it has been during regular season. It creates more space and a secondary concourse to remove lots of congestion.

I'm just here for the thrice drop 💥

they've torn up the practice field for construction for the 12 time in 8 years.

If I’m on the selection committee, I look at Tennessee’s record away from home and say they to be in Knoxville to be fair. They have struggled on the road. GBO!

If USM has been so good for 13 years or so, why is their stadium still relatively small?

Maybe they like that intimacy? We're not wanting to go into a mega structure like some others. We want to maintain that "hornet's nest" vibe of LNS. Bigger isn't always better.
