Money vs. Sugar

Today, in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, front page of sports section is about Floyd/Pac.

Floyd says, "If he wants to fight, he knows where to find me. If Manny takes the test, we can make the fight happen. If he doesn't, we don't have a fight."

Floyd really has it in his mind the Pacquiao is using steroids, obviously. I know that Floyd has alot of contacts in his sport, but is he making an assumption off of the dominance of Pacquiao? Or has he gotten some information?

De La Hoya, Floyd's promoter, goes on to say that Floyd is the one that calls the shots about the fight. Pacquiao needs him more than Floyd does.

Personally, I gotta disagree with that one. Pacquiao seems to be the world's favorite fighter right now. His pay per view's have consistently gotten better. I know that Floyd is undeafted, but while he was in semi-retirement, it seemed that Pac was taking over where he left off.

I guess I am just trying to figure out why Floyd is so sure that Pacquiao is taking steroids...

It definately makes you wonder whats really going on behind the scenes.
Yeah it does.

As sure as Floyd and his camp are about Manny hittin the PED's, it seems like it is a sure thing.

I dont know. I am not in the circles that would know. I just love both fighters and would love to see that fight. Somehow, Floyd seems to be CERTAIN that Manny is on something.

Wouldn't we all like to know ? What if Floyd whooped him anyway, if Pac tested positive for something before the fight???

Do you think that Pac would test positive??

I dont know. Seriously, as a fan of both fighters, and as a bettor.

I think my money would HAVE to be on Manny.

I just dont know. Maybe that would change leading up to the fight. But damn, Manny HITS HARD. Floyd is the master at avoiding the big hits.

But, I have made alot of Money off of betting on Floyd. Five in a row.

Just imagining... With all that mouth Money has... What if Manny did test positive and Floyd is like "I'll whoop him anyway..." And did it? He'd never shut up...

LOL. You are right, he would never stop talking! It would almost be too much!

The only "support" I've heard people lend to the arguement is that his first fight was at 106. However, nobody mentions he was only 16 at the time.

Let them both get roided out & have a fight for the ages

Not actually that far off from some in boxing. From Paul Williams' promoter:

“If it was me or Paul and there were signs that someone was on drugs I would say, give them some more drugs. We just want to fight. Regardless of anything. You can give them all the drugs they want. We just want to fight, that’s it. Paul Williams is a warrior’s fighter. If he loses he says, ‘hey, I lost.’ If he wins it’s, ‘hey, I won.’ I just believe in all that other stuff. I’m old-school. This is a new generation of boxing but I don’t believe in that. I believe if you’re a fighter let’s fight. Forget all of that other stuff.”

I do think Pac is on PEDs. I have no more evidence than any other moron on the internet speculating about such things....it just smells fishy. Keeping with the gambling theme, if there were a square on the felt table labeled "Pacquiao is on PEDs", I'd put several chips on it.

HOWEVER, I think Mayweather beats Pacquiao regardless of the doping situation. Pacquiao is a merciless puncher, but it's difficult to capitalize on the ability to throw a seemingly endless amount of punches against a guy like Mayweather who is SO difficult to hit.

Do you think that Manny has the power to knock down Floyd with one punch?

Question wasn't directed at me but I don't think manny is a one punch knock out artist. Better question to me is can he hit him with enough clean punches to knock him out?

After watching the last fight I have my doubts.

Mayweather took 2 punches on the chin from Mosley in the 2nd round and didn't get knocked down either time. I think Mosley probably has more punching power then Pac.

I think Mayweather would outbox Pac and win a decision if I were to bet on the fight.

Only question is does the increase in speed make a big enough difference? Pac may be slightly weaker but he's also quicker/unorthodox. Would 4 or 5 from Manny be worth more than 2 from Shane?

Thats a good question. I would think his 4-5 would be stronger than mosley's 2. After all, speed kills, right?

If he did round after round. He would wear him down for sure. I watched the Pac/Hatton fight. Could not beliee Pac's speed. I literally only saw where the punches, and couldnt see him arm in motion. It was unbelievable.

Totally agree. That speed he had against Hatton was out of this world.

Been trying to remember if Floyd has ever even been knocked down before.

The only time I remember it being close was with Zab Judah, he almost went down, on a great hit by Judah. Some think it shoulda counted. Not me though.

When he broke his hand against Hernandez he took a knee, right?

Here is the Judah fight real quick.
