More out of GA that could be a big help to recruiting.

I wonder what happens though if Georgia wins out. At that point they'll have a pretty good record. Will that return some stability?

I'm hoping for them to blow up the rest of the way but if you look at the schedule there's a chance that it just won't happen.

It's all about coaching. They've made bad (remember Donnan and Goff?) to average (see Richt, Mark) hires the last few times they've had a head-coaching vacancy. A solid coach could win multiple NCs there. Coaching is the only missing piece. That's why I, for one, am hoping Richt can somehow survive all this mess.

I don't think Donnan was a bad hire necessarily. He went 40-19 in 5 seasons at UGA and was 4-0 in bowl games the last 4 seasons, and finished top 20 each of those same seasons. Not bad considering he came in and had to straighten the [program after Goff's tenure. Donnan's problem was that he came in when UT and UF were the heavyweights in the SEC, and could not beat either of them.

IF they win out Richt and BS may live to fight another day.,... Can't say the same for Pruitt. He's a goner no matter what happens.

Lmao so coach Pruitt supposedly got in a hissy fit at richt's house...and somehow, someway, this news leaks out. Yeah this sounds like grade a horse manure to me.

A lot of these rumors are BS BUT there is some severe dysfunction in that staff. Some of the stuff that is being reported is absolutely true.

If they win out in a competent fashion. If they struggle every he and barely win, I'd bet they clean house.

Who knows maybe Vince and Barbara can pull some strings... he does have a really detailed binder.

So..one rumor is that the UGA big dogs are pissed because Pruitt hired a bunch of "Bammer Yahoos", but other rumors have them wanting to fire Richt and go after Bammer Kirby Smart? What a dumpster fire. Sounds like a nightmare power struggle in the administration. Who other than a kid that grew up his whole life wanting to be a pup would get within 200 miles of Athens?

Smart is a UGA alum and started his coaching career there.

Not a top 10?!! Are you kidding? Gosh there are so many reasons to call it a top 5 job. Beautiful campus (imo) - check. Power 5 conference - check. Virtually no competition from other in state schools - check. Recruiting hot bed in your own backyard - check. Not many schools can say all of that!

USC
Texas
Notre Dame
Florida
Florida State
Texas A&M
Michigan
Alabama
LSU
Oklahoma

Which of those jobs would you rank below Georgia? Because there are others I'd rank ahead of them including Tennessee. Recruiting base in only a small piece of what makes a coaching job desirable.

Hmmm.... I've never thought about this until you guys just brought it up but I think an argument could be made to the contrary. aTm has the best facilities in the country after their recent upgrades, they are the number one school in Texas in terms of recruiting, they are in the SEC, their only downside is having to run the West gauntlet. UGA has greater tradition but that's about it at this point in time.

Actually, for the reasons stated above by dragon, it is close.

OAN: do you think one day you will let the cat out of the bag, and tell VN that you truly are a GA fan?

A&M have to compete with Texas, TCU, Texas Tech and Baylor. I'm not even going to respond to the second part. Though it is amusing that you care enough to even ask.

Georgia is better than every job in the country except USC. IMO. And recruiting base is the #1 consideration of a job IMO.

Cat I would counter that UGA has to compete with Auburn,Bama, Florida, Clemson, USCe and UT within nearly the same proximity as what you listed for aTm.

Georgia is better than Texas if for no other reason than the quality of the boosters you would have to deal with. Plus the weather really sucks here in the summer. OK ain't much better.

Left out Florida State and Ohio State who do some major Georgia plucking.

Have you looked at the Aggie co-eds? Woof!

Notre Dame has lost it's luster. Oklahoma and A&M aren't as good as GA IMO. Other than the recruiting advantage with most on that list, I would put Tennessee right there with most. IMBO
