First Love is a good Japanese Yakuza film. The plot is very Coen bothers-esque, and tho the execution sometimes is laughable, it was really entertaining.

DW and I watch a movie about 6 nights a week. We take turns choosing. When you watch that many movies it's hard not to get some duds more than occasionally. I like dark comedies, and one might be a zero, and the next one be nearly perfect with actors you've never heard of being fantastic. We will usually look them up and watch more of their movies.

FWIW, DW thinks most of my movies are weird too.

Watched Buckshot last night 2017 4/10 Buckshot (2017) - “Cast” credits - IMDb ....good idea for a movie imo...young aspiring country singer picks up aging cantankerous legend to travel from Seattle to Nashville for one last show...never delivered as a buddy, road trip, or inspiration movie for me..maybe they can rework the script and retry ala Bottle Rocket

A Quiet Place II...8/10 I really appreciate Krasinski's directing style, very lean and mean. The audio design was again very impressive. I hope there is not a part III as I love the abrupt ending but if there is, I'll be there.

That has to be wrong. I’ve noticed other movies have had incorrect runtimes when I’ve googled them recently. I’m pretty sure the first Quiet Place is only like an hour and a half

Off the top of my head, Once Upon a Time in America is the only movie nearing 4 hours I could watch in one sitting...and it was a gangster movie which helped. Believe Godfather II was over 3 hours too.

Good to see a Tarkovsky on there. Completely forgot about Andrei Rublev, man. Was expecting Solaris too - but it fell 14 mins short. Was thinking a Fellini too...La Dolce Vita is 180m on the dot...though it does say over 3 hours. technically. It definitely has a long feel to it, directing style and all.

Wolf of Wall Street really didn't feel that long, had to look that one up.

Greener Grass 6.5/10 if you are looking for the Stepford Wives on LSD, this might be your ticket. I just laughed at the absurdity of it. Very creepy fun world they create. Worth the ride.
