'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

Ask Jimbo Fisher how throwing a ridiculous amount of money around has helped him win last year.
It all goes back to your culture within the program. Getting all 5 stars that don't mesh as a team is pretty on paper, but does not transfer to success on the field. A&M is a PRIME example of that.

Yep. Auburn isn’t scared to spend like we are.
You think UT/Spyre is scared to spend money? They’re not. They seem to be doing it with a plan and smartly. Bringing in the right guys. Team culture is very important. You can’t just buy a bunch of guys and expect it to go well. How’d that strategy workout for A&M?

I has the economics degree from Sims Cities.

Always best to borrow more and spend everything you have.

So because that happened at TAMU that means it’s gonna happen here? How do you know the character of guys like Franklin and Nwaneri? If these guys are not the right fit, then why has the staff recruited them so hard? Why do they continue to recruit them? We have a better coaching staff than TAMU. I don’t see how use by one example makes any difference.

And here he comes. Enlighten me then. What don’t I get? Please be specific and not your usual hyperbole garbage.
You don't get that it is STUPID to overpay for a player. It is stupid in the short term when you can get an equal or equivalent player (potential) while preserving your ability to compete for others. It is stupid in the long run because you pay players for production you do not get and you cannot pay for players to fill the roster around and behind them.

Again, I hope you don't manage your personal financial affairs like you suggest Spyre and UT should manage theirs.

A good albeit imperfect analogy would be teaching kids to live on a budget. You give them money to pay for things they want or need. They can overpay. They can waste money on things that have no real value to them. Or... they can spend their money wisely and do BETTER because of it.

No.

The fact you actually think over spending on a particular player fixes everything, shows that you lack knowledge of handling money in a responsible manner.

Also, Spyre is smart and will put the resources towards players whom are a fit for Heupel’s culture and not just the ones chasing money for the sake of it.

If you’re that bothered by Spyre, maybe you should stop donating since you think we have a “weak” NIL setup.

he doesn't even have a date set.

it always amuses me how little it takes for this board to jump to a conclusion.
It really isn't much of a leap if you've paid attention to the reversal of course done by Austin Price. He's all but conceded Kam to AU and even today said that Nwaneri is a more likely option, and he doesn't think we have much of a shot at all at Nwaneri.

IF IF IF some of these guys are to be NIL driven, the staff may be slowing their roll while maintaining contact and assessing their best offer and the timing of it relative to a commit OR MAYBE even signing day. So AP and the rest have little to see and calculate and are not making stuff up.

There is little value add in these threads to trend analysis with these guys. By talking heads and fans, optimistic or pessimistic.
