My buddy has DM'ed the Rivals writer for La Tech (interesting response)

I dont doubt that Hart told him that, I just doubt it's try. If an AD wants to keep speculation off a certain prospective coach, he gets word out to other coaches that they are candidates. No way does Dykes get the job.

Would this mean that his OC Tony Franklin is coming too? Wasn't Franklin sort of a problem down in Auburn for Tubberville?

But i would take him over those two names mentioned.

Yeah, I'm not saying Dykes is at the top of my list or anything. But I don't get all of the hate for him either. I would take him over alot of the names people throw around regularly.

And yeah, Mumme's offense didn't work great in the SEC. You know what also hasn't worked great in the SEC? Pretty much every offense Kentucky has put on the field. They're Kentucky.

Dykes is a new version of it, and it's worked well for him in the Big 12 and the Pac 10, so I wouldn't be so worried about it. Sure, it's a question mark, but I'd rather have someone who is a proven winner with a track record of success over alot of the "this guy got fired, but here's his excuse..." or "this guy only won a little bit, but it's so hard to win at _____" types that people keep bringing up. Those are the real dangerous hires, in my mind.

If anyone really believes this, they should probably consider having a vasectomy or tubal ligation, so as to ensure that their genes will be stricken from the pool.

The defenses of those conferences at the time he was coaching were known to be very weak. To be honest, everyone's offense worked. I'm just saying that Dykes needs to pay his dues as a head coach before we should risk hiring him.

Yes. He was some hot shot from Tulsa (I think) and totally bombed. Didn't survive the season.

This BS (or something like it) really wouldn't surprise me at this point. I pretty much expect us to mess this hire up somehow.

It's what we do, sad to say.

LA Tech defense is giving up 581.2 yards/game. Last in the FBS. Dykes would be more same old same old... I vote for no more shootouts with Troy

If we hire another La Tech coach I'm done with UT football until we get a competent AD and coach.

We could do alot worse than Dykes. The guy is a proven winner.

Macintyre at San Jose and Taggart at WKU. Would rather have those guys, who took over 2 of the worst programs in the country; programs that were winless or one win seasons the year they took over and have really built a program from scratch than Dykes.

He took over a tough situation. The guy before him left right before signing day. His teams have improved every year he has been there. His record is far more impressive than Al Golden's or Willie Taggart's or others who have supposedly "turned around" bad programs and whose names get brought up alot on here.

Doesn't compare to Taggart, who took over a program that HAD NEVER WON A GAME in the FBS. It's hilarious to even suggest that.

Nope. What about his record doesn't say "proven winner"? I'd take Dykes over any of the retreads (Tuberville, Davis, Cutcliffe, etc.) being bandied about. History shows that hiring a guy who has won regularly in the mid major level works out better than hiring a guy who has previously been fired from a major program.

He is 1-2 against teams with a winning record this year and is about to be 1-3. It's funny that people would take him over Strong. Smh

Edit - the one win he has is against a team that is in their second year of football. Larry Coker is doing a good job there why not take him? Just kidding about taking Coker but he might be the best coach in the WAC

Nick Saban or a guy with a double chin and who learned his craft from Hal Mumme. Who is a prominent recruit going to choose?

Sonny Dykes isn't a bad coach. That being said, if Tennessee were to hire him, I think 90% of the fans would hate it.

Only way I'd be happy with it is if he's bringing Tony Franklin with him.

Finally a picture and not "according to my sources."

Nothing like a picture to confirm the truth....

First of all, here is the guys twitter. https://twitter.com/theJFord

Publisher of BleedTechBlue.com

My friend has lived in Ruston, and him and Jonathan Ford have known each other for awhile while my friend worked as an intern for a sports station there.

Anyways, here is the screen cap my friend emailed to me..

I get tongue in cheek from this. The guy was joking. Like me telling a buddy that Dave Hart just called me and wants me to interview for the job.

That - or this is a geek having fun in photoshop, etc.

You can make about anything you want to happen ( computer-wise ) - happen with photoshop if you want to take the time to do it. So don't believe every screen shot you see.
