I give this about a .000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of happening. And that's being generous.

People need to start being more realistic. Gruden is most likely not happening (could, but doubtful) and the realistic choices are guys like Strong, Dykes, etc.

Strong yes, Dykes no chance. They will not take another chance on a Dooley type hire and thats what Dykes could be although his players actually like him.

Strong doesn't look so great to me either. Why do so many fans want him? Am I missing something? It looked like Louisville was going to overtime against UConn yesterday. Never bothered to check the outcome bc I could care less about Big East football.

I honestly don't see much difference in Dykes and Strong. They have about the same HC record. Strong was an assistant in the SEC, so that helps I guess. Strong is currently paid almost 3 million bucks while Dykes makes 750 grand. Could LaTech line up and beat UL? I think so. If Dykes had a real DC to go along with that offense, he could be scary good. Their offense is rated #1 in all of college football. If I had to choose Dykes at 2 million or Strong at 3.25, it's Dykes all day long. The extra 1.25 allows us to hire a top DC(Chavis maybe). Graham and Pittman would be retained as Dykes would see them as upgrades IMO. Tony Franklin makes ALOT less than we could pay him.

Not an ideal choice, but much better than what we had here.

Agree 100%

Can we please stop the nonsense. Mr. Hart is a smart guy and knows what the reaction would be if we hired a second LaTech coach in a row. I will put Dykes's chances (if Gruden was not already in) at exactly 0%.

First of all, here is the guys twitter. https://twitter.com/theJFord

I agree but the biggest thing is Strong has had dominant defenses in the SEC and knows how to recruit them. Dykes teams dont know the word D and just being from LA Tech is enough to say no. Just hope it doesnt get far enough down the pecking order to worry about Dykes. Hart could be interviewing guys just to interview them to make it look legit and you leak Strong is near the top with him being a minority and that covers the race issue.

Everyone realizes this is a photoshopped fake right? There is another goign around with Grudens name in it. In fact someone just replied in here with that one.....pay attention folks.

The fact that dooley coached there shouldn't mean squat. At those small schools you have to pick offense or defense. There isnt enough talent to support both. Based on what he has done, he should be on the radar. And that is exactly why dooley shouldn't have been.

I think Dykes is a fine coach. Not going to say he isn't, I just think UT HAS to go with a more established coach and recruiter. JMO

As a student @ LaTech & a Vols fan, i can assure that Coach Dykes won't be the next HC for our Vols. Word going around is that UK and Arkansas have hit him up to gauge interest in their HC position. With the way this season turned out for my Dawgs, its hard to see CSD coming back to Tech next season, jmo, tifwiw.

Did your post make any sense? What exactly is your opinion? He won't be at Tech but he won't be UT because he has been contacted by Arkansas and Kentucky?

CSD may be a good coach but he isn't a hire that would unite this fan base. If hired all hell would break loose.

Most of the fanbase got behind Dooley when he was hired and he looked worse on paper than dykes. I think most fans will support any coach hired until he proves he can not win here.

ahem, MY opinion is that I do not want CSD to coach UT. Point. Blank. Period. If he leaves Tech, it won't be to UT cuz we have better choices. THAT'S my opinion.

I agree. I'm sure the new guy will say the right things at the intro presser and most will get on board. It may take the 'Grudenites' a while though.

Apparently Sonny Dykes usual Monday morning press conference has been cancelled due to a "recruiting trip"...
