NASCAR bans the confederate flag

Haven't kept up so maybe it was already covered.

What day did the team start using that garage - I would think it had to be before Sunday when it was found. How many times did someone on the team open or close the door using that pull?

EDIT: Found a schedule showing Cup haulers enter and unload Saturday evening.

I don't believe Bubba Wallace owes anyone an apology, but I do think he should have come out and said it was a mistake instead of doubling down on stupid, which is what he decided to do. There was nothing racist at play.

I do think some posters on here are deserved of apologies by other posters who accused them of racism for questioning the validity from the start. Racism shouldn't be the default option anytime people disagree.

His biggest crime is not knowing knot semantics.

You're saying we know that it was on the door and operating on Sunday/this week?

Isn't it verified to be there since last Oct?

I didn't know that they specified where it was. I saw the picture that it was hanging from the door in October, but I didn't know that meant it was still on the door now. For some reason I had it in my head that it was lying around or something. If it was hanging on the door, that's just beyond stupid of Bubba's teammate.

If this is so, there is no way this is a hoax that Bubba was in on. Who would think that any investigation would lead to people thinking it was a bona fide noose?

From all I can tell it's being called a garage pull and there's a picture of said pull from October. I would think if it was just laying around then it would be harder to confirm it was a pull and somebody would have reported it as laying around rather than saying it was "there since October".

We also don't know who reported it. Given they should have been in the garage prior to discovering getting the car ready I wonder if it was someone connected to BW that is not familiar with racing or garages (family, friend, ?).

yes.... by you
Umm,

"The FBI report concludes, and photographic evidence confirms, that the garage door pull rope fashioned like a noose had been positioned there since as early as last fall," NASCAR said in its statement. "This was obviously well before the 43 team's arrival and garage assignment.

not a noose, it's a pull that looks like a noose

Agree with your assessment. But Bubba had no problem falling into the victim role most likely at NASCAR's request.

No, his biggest crime is continuing to cry "it was a noose" instead of simply admitting a mistake was made. He could diffuse the situation easily, but decided to continue with the "racism" narrative. Racism was not in play here, and he knows that.

You think he's still trying to perpetuate that there was racism involved?

been called worse. recently. but I am not offended. In fact, I think we should talk about me right now.

Okay, Blanche.

If I heard correctly he made a comment that it was not a functioning noose; I presume that means it was a fixed loop rather than a slip knot that gets tighter if you pull on it. That's kinda a defining quality of a noose along with the use.
