NASCAR bans the confederate flag

Is that supposed to be witty? Ignoring the facts of the story doesn't help your case. It wasn't a noose. It was a garage pull.

It was a garage pull with a noose on it. It’s funny how out of the 11 with knots and pull ropes in about 1,600 other garages, none had the same knot.

I think people were ready to move on, but Bubba wasn't willing to let that happen. He had to get that spotlight back by playing on racial tensions over a non-racist act.

When it's real, it deserves the brightest spotlight we can shine. When it's not real, the involved parties shouldn't be out there trying to stir up outrage for the sake of outrage(or in Bubba's case, publicity). If Bubba wants publicity that badly, win a damn race. Don't double down on a fake incident. There was nothing racist about this.
I agree with you. I say don’t give him the attention if that’s the case. That’s what he wants.

It really is amazing how some people refuse to believe the truth despite the fact the FBI, NASCAR, witnesses, and photographic evidence shows that the rope was a noose. Y'all watch too much infowars and OAN.

Someone needs to pay the price for NASCAR’s noose fiasco: Devine

Someone needs to pay for the NASCAR noose fiasco.

It was never true that a “noose” was deliberately placed, as a racist threat, in the Alabama garage stall of Bubba Wallace, the only black full-time driver on the NASCAR circuit.

There was no hate crime” NASCAR boss Steve Phelps admitted Tuesday after 48 hours of incendiary hysteria.

Phelps didn’t even have the grace to act embarrassed about sending a gullible media off on a “wild noose chase” during a time of heightened racial tension.

No fewer than 15 FBI agents were summoned to investigate the false alarm.

Do you agree it was also determined to not be a hate crime? That’s what the investigators said. Why not move on then if you’re Bubba?

"Did you hear about the Wallace NASCAR story? Shocker, it turns out it wasn't a hate crime. Turns out it wasn't even technically a noose, although you could totally understand why somebody would think it was." - reasonable people who were always skeptical of the hate crime

"It was a hoax from the start! No hate crime. It wasn't even a noose! It was a door pull. Wallace is a lying race-baiter. **** my **** Bubba Smollett" - the right wing outrage mob that believes whatever they want to believe

why should NASCAR apologize? What were they supposed to do once the allegation was out there? They had to get out in front of this.

It was there last fall. So it's been there for some time. It blew up because by coincidence/fate/luck of the draw Bubba got assigned that garage. There was no duplicity involved. There was no racist motive. It's just something that happened.

Maybe the whole thing has been scripted like a wrestling story line just to create a heel that rednecks will pay money to show up and boo at? I was looking at the Ruffin Flag Co. website recently and they have CSA flags and BLM flags both offered on their main page. That's good business right there.

@Weezer don't lose street cred over this. You're usually a real one. Don't slum it with AirVol
It's a garage pull. I've read the individual stories and pieced the facts together. To call it a "noose" is to try and add a racial meaning that does not apply. Bubba was not targeted. No one was trying to "send him a message". The point standings just led to him being assigned a garage with a poorly tied garage pull. Bubba could have easily diffused the situation when the FBI investigation revealed this to be nothing, but he chose not to. Nothing insidious happened here. I'm not sure why you keep wanting to portray that it has.

It's amazing how some people have to look for something to be outraged about when there's nothing to be outraged over. Referring to it as a "noose" is to suggest there was some racial meaning there that clearly was not present.

The FBI didn't use quotation marks when they referred to it as a noose multiple times in their report following the investigation.

Bubba has a sh!tload of people calling him another Jussie Smollett so he has to push back on that one.

Good lord. If calling it a noose makes you happy, go for it, but there was no racial animosity in play whatsoever. To continue to play this as if it was somehow racially motivated or racially insensitive or whatever is absurd. Someone fashioned a knot to make it easier to pull the garage door down. That's all it was. Nothing more. People have made friggin' Mount Everest out of this.
