'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee commit)

This is the word our of Columbus his parents are super involved and this seems to be a driving force behind the trip.

UT has a good medical school, but OSU has legit top of the food chain medical facilities/programs. They get so much more research grants than UT and invest it heavily back into their RnD

If sanders really thinks this is that important, he may indeed flip. If he is up there just trying to force UT the give him more then UT has a chance to keep him
Not sure what undergrad courses have to do with that. If he's everything he is projected to be he won't even sniff medical school in regard to a university providing scholarship money

We know relationship wise the reason TN won initial recruiting battle is just that Sanders and family formed a wonderful relationship with Coach Heup and Elarbee that is well documented and second his relationship with GMAC. He has been involved in recruiting for Vols so there is much going on behind the scenes as Oh St has not stopped recruiting him putting some doubts in his minds. So now Tennessee rolls up sleeves this week and gets back to work on him and in the end He stays committed. Big Boy Recruiting in NiL area will never be dull. Now with Elarbee. Every fan base wants their OL coached fired because most fans thank it is a plug in play position but in reality it's even more difficult than QB position. So many moving parts on field especially in Sec level and as a Offensive head Coach you must have complete trust in OL Coach. Let's see how this Sanders thing plays out. Go Vols. In CHRIST Alone

We should know a lot more today. If he was comfortable flipping his commit I think he would have signaled that to them last night, and the news leaked to their insiders.

We will see, for now no news is good news.
His recruitment was quiet. They did a good job of sequestering info, for lack of better terms.

Shad, if healthy. The C, and the T from TX.

Gotta think some may transfer.

Perry is ahead of Warren at RT. The coaches love him there. Ginther and Max Anderson are also good prospects. This entire freshman OLine class really impressed in spring/fall practice, but Perry, Ginther, and Anderson were the ones we heard most about.

Sham is probably one starting Guard next year. We’ll see if Karic gets a medical redshirt.

Depth also becomes an issue. If we're being hyper critical, and we are.

Sorry but anyone blaming Elarbee is an idiot. He can get credit for landing Sanders...but he cannot be blamed for losing him as this seems related to NIL which Elarbee has nothing to do with.

One thing I’ve learned throughout this recruitment is never to listen to any OHST On3 mod because they have no idea. They had no idea when he committed to us and they have no idea now. They are all homers and know nothing.
What about Wiltfong. I would bet there intel is better this time since it sounds like the Sanders family reached out to Ohio State.

Besides Woods, Ohio State hosted five-star offensive tackle and Tennessee commit David Sanders Jr. and Michigan State cornerback commit Aydan West. Sanders is still on campus Monday and West is expected back in East Lansing.

I continue to like the way it’s trending for Sanders and will have more in Wiltfong Whiparound later this morning.

it's relationships with the right, or wrong people. Which, what you're saying makes sense. And I agree.

The frustration with Ellerbee has to do with product over 4 years. Pass pro, getting whipped by lesser teams on road, lots of penalties. All would be forgiven with great recruiting, but last year aside. Has been much less than desired.

You never know but sounds like writing is on the wall. Last thing i'll say. You hate being in this position, but he is a marquee recruit. Its never over till signing day.

What's more concerning is that our final OV weekend we didnt have a single OL for 25 cycle. THAT has to change going forward. We have got to get a bigger board.

This is something I find particularly odd, given we've already lost a highly rated commitment on the line.....

'we have to get a bigger board'

Whatever it takes...

If Huep can evaluate his staff and feel good. All in.

In management, everyone gets evaluated every year. Even CEO. What's performance like? NO one is exempt.

If its me, and i'm looking at tape, and body of work on trail. I'm getting mg guy some help. Call the bullpen, slap a title. Get it done.

That's two, in separate years. You realize an OL is 5 people, right?

Jokes aside, the guy has trouble recruiting. And thus far, his high school recruits haven't really shown they can contribute. Getting Sanders was a big win for him, but if he loses Sanders....

Part of our struggles this year have been inconsistent OL play. I'm not calling for his head. At least not yet. But he needs some help.

It's been said the issue isn't about money, we are paying in the heavyweight division.
And it’s also been said that it’s nothing Elarbee did.

Here's where I am at (I know what KingVFL has said)

This DOES seem to be an NIL move. How was the relationship/lack of development not an issue over the summer but it is now? How can he be seemingly so locked in and 2 weeks before all of the sudden change his mind? OSU fans HATE their OL coach and want him fired just like most UT fans. I think this is a play by OSU to make a splash in recruiting after their rival made a splash landing Underwood last week.

As Tony V says "Make a decision, you're either a Vol or you're not". No kid will ever be bigger than the program but I hope he decides to stick around.

It’s not solely NIL driven. Been said several times by several sources. Elarbee can’t help that a family is allowing themselves to be nudged in a direction by a handler. I agree with that. However, he is responsible for not having developed a single HS recruit to this point. You’re crazy if you don’t think the OSU loving handler has been letting Sanders and his family know about that fact for several months. Elarbee’s recruiting failures from past cycles made it necessary for a guy like Sanders to come in and be contribute next season. Now we’re going to be heavy in the portal for offensive linemen and hope whoever we get will be serviceable.
