You’re not wrong. If he’s good enough to start then start him. If he’s not physically ready though redshirt him. If he does end up starting we need to get him as much experience as possible as quickly as possible; have Georgia early next year at home.Ehhh, unless we portal well, I can see him starting. Our returning OL isn't great, and getting 9 months of practice and workouts in should make him a contender.
Red shirting likely future NFL players is pointless. He's not staying 5 years anyway, so if he's better than someone even by a little bit, burn the red shirt and play him.
If he's 300 pounds by Spring ball, then he's added a lot of fat not muscle. Nobody adds 25 pounds of muscle in 3 months. It says 275ish, he’s light but athletic as crap. Staff has put 20+ lbs on guys every lineman that enroll early by spring that has been under weight. Expect 300 by spring ball if history indicates anything.
And these same stats have to be repeated every year for some people like they are stuck in the 1990s (sigh)Jordan Seaton, Francis Mauigoa, Kadyn Proctor and Kelvin Banks started as freshman and that’s just recently. All top 2 OT recruits. It’s not outlandish and highly likely he starts.
