'19 NC RB Quavaris Crouch (Tennessee signee)

If this is true the reports we have received that Pruitt had his man, and was 95% done were totally false.
I guess I would see it as the opposite BUT it wasn't on paper. Probably closer to 80% but 95% is an agreement in principle between what he is gonna run, money, term, perks, housing allowance, etc... The rest is the legal BS with signatures.
CJP knows what a distraction being an OC and preparing for a bowl (or NC game) would be. I personally admire a guy more for wanting to not walk out in the middle of that. Shows some actually give a crap when they (coaches) say " I love these seniors and want stay to fight with them but when I got that fat azz raise I had to go ASAP.

Wouldn't this be a switch from the pro-style back to a spread (or variation of spread) offense? Seems like this will set us further back after we have 2 recruiting classes set for the pro-style.

????
I hope what you are asking what do my comments mean as it relates to us hiring him.

All I am saying is these great numbers are coming from a defenseless (for the most past) league. Unless we can come up with an unbelievable "lock down" defense, it will be hard to put up numbers like this guys has been able to post.
Still not following...

You need to google SEMANTICS. Reggie Bush WON the Heisman. If he didn’t, how was it stripped from him? Good with either Yurcich or Sark. Name I hate being bandied about on this board is Major Applewhite. That stretches the boundaries of my wait and see before judging too thin.
He didnt have it stripped, he gave it back...ummmm because he remembered he didn't win it when he tried his key in the Heisman House and he wasn't getting mail there.
I can do this all day lol.
I would be unhappy with Applewhite, the other two are both gonna be can they do in the SEC what they have done elsewhere. We are kind-of an outlier in that regard unless we get a current OC from a Winning program in the SEC. I don't see it. I would be fine with OCMY.

That's why I dont think its him. Unless he agreed to run pruitt's offense.

Why so? It was reported that Pruitt talked to him soon after the position became vacant. I don't know who the new OC will be, but if I was a betting man, I would bet Sark

I agree with you on this.

Ok I see what you mean there on sark. That I can see. Just cant see osu's oc. Too much difference in offensive schemes.

I honestly don’t think Pruitt is building this offense for JG. I think this is an offense for the future. Shrout and Maurer are known to have accuracy on the run. JG is not known for that but he can do it.

Being able to roll out will help both the OL and JG though. So it will be interesting how things go with whoever we get.
What?

Shrout is known to be super inaccurate. That is why he never challenged for the job. 51% in HS and inaccurate in camp. That is what all the reports say. But the guy Over 60% always ins't accurate? lol.

Neither of them are known for anything really. They haven't played.

Best believe CJP is factoring in his starting qb.

*Tennessee has officially extended an offer*

Would anyone here care to hazard a guess as to what this actually is supposed to mean. What is an official one? On paper?

And how are we supposed to know such officialness is actually true? Trust another blog rumor it appears.

Excuse me if I don't trust these stories and only believe it when he's running thru the T next year.

So if he’s coaching during spring practice you still won’t believe it? What he’s in the box and does t run through the T?

Not to over simplify but it is easier to take Pro style athletes and run a spread type formation than to go the other way. Spread is designed to make use of smaller faster type backs and receivers so any of the guys Pruitt has recruited can do both in some situations.

I believe he comes here when I see it. He's working T Boone for a raise.

Possibly, but keep in mind, Gundy is an OKSt alum. He played there and has coached there for most of his career, so it was going to be more difficult to pull him away. Yurcich has been their OC for a few years, but has no ties to the school beyond that. It's not quite the same situation.

Good lord dude. I swear you are liking a homing missile towards JG.

JG has trouble throwing on the run it’s been proven in multiple games. That being said most of Shrouts passes in high school were on the run and a lot of the camps showed him throwing accurately on the run. That doesn’t mean that Shrout at some point has had trouble with accuracy he is just good at throwing on the run. (Just like reports have said Shrout has the best arm on the team, which you deny for some reason)

Maurer has video during the elite 11 throwing on the run very accurately. Yes all can change when more defenders get out there and you put on pads but my statement still stands.

Now as far as what I said about the offense. We can agree to disagree. It is being built for whoever the starter will be and with a new OC JG is not automatically the starter.

All the previous was just in case you were being serious. That out of the way, we’re basically in lock step with the rest. It all works til it don’t.

Doug Matthews said Pruitt had his man and it was 95% done. Did that mean everything on Pruitt's side was done and all he had to do was inform Yurcich that we were going to offer the position to him?

Remember,,,, all these wonderful stats have come in the little 12, not the SEC.
That being said, the number of times we would get the ball per game, would either go down, because the other teams just wouldn't let us have it, and this would not allow us to run so many plays per game. It think it can be said that in the little 12 the dominant force is offense. In the SEC it defense or a balance of both sides of the ball.
How exactly would other teams dictate how many times we get the ball when we also put a defense on the field to stop the other teams?

He’s never actually able to produce a “report”. Don’t know who would be keeping these detailed stats in camp and practices. I’m sure they’re being kept, but it’s not a public database. It’s a reasonable assumption that Guarantano has had the best accuracy in shorts. If K would roll with that, he’d be golden. But (as always) he has to ramp it up where “all the experts” say the same thing and take his word for it. 😉

I think we as a fanbase need a breath of fresh air. Right now it's seems like we are sucking on an exhaust pipe.
Only way to fix it is recruit like he is right now and develop those players. Results will follow and so will excitement. Simple as that. Best example is what rick Barnes has done.

Anyone else get the feeling that this offer was extended weeks ago, turned down and now the Mike Yurcich camp is putting this out there to lobby for the Ohio State job.
