Nebraska vs. Northwestern

Doesn’t it make sense that Nebraska’s recruiting woes stem from joining the B1G? The Texas and other southwestern kids do not care to play in the B1G for Nebraska…I think that is part of the reason for Texas joining the SEC; Texas kids were starting to choose the SEC to play in.

And Nebraska is not getting kids from the heart of B1G country to come play in…Nebraska.
In the Big 8/12, they recruited Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and New Jersey. Nowadays, they seem to be Midwest only. And they are way down the list. The farmboy OL and smash mouth running game has moved to Wisconsin.

It’s always been at Wisconsin. They’ve just done it better than Nebraska for about 20 years now.

Let’s face it the only reason Frost got the job was because he was a former player and Osbourne probably loves him. 1 undefeated season at UCF should not have been enough for him to get the job. Nebraska should have went after a more tenured coach.

We wanted to hire him badly

Which explains it, our admin at that time was probably much less competent

Nebraska keeps up its habit of finding a way to lose by a couple points..their fans must be pretty miserable: I can relate

Does Matt Campbell answer if they do?

Recruiting to Iowa State is no more difficult than recruiting to Nebraska. That’s a lateral move at best.

Now Auburn on the other hand….
He's been pretty picky on jobs. I don't think he'll touch Auburn with a ten foot pole. The way Harsin has been done since he arrived, a lot of coaches are going to pass on that job.

Wisconsin needs to be Nebraska's template for how they can rebuild their program. I don't think Nebraska ever contends for titles again, especially on any kind of consistent basis. However they can be a consistently good program that occasionally competes for a conference title. Much like Nebraska, there is no real good reason why Wisconsin should have a good football program, but they do anyway. They have not had a losing season since 2001.

It will be interesting to see if Nebraska goes after an Urban Meyer type coach to reinvigorate that fan base and potential recruits if they fire Frost during or after this season.
