It can. That's why getting a sense of who you dialogue with is important.
It's not for everyone. But neither is constant affirmation, encouragement, and nurturing. (You didn't make that claim, I added that for comparison context).

As an Aspie, I get sarcasm (use it, too.) What I struggle with always, though, is meanness, which is pretty common for those on ASD spectrum. So when someone who is usually funny or pleasant or whatever sounds seems to turn cruel, I don't get it at all. Worsened a miliion times online, of course, due to absence of voice and facial cues.
it is still a choreEspecially when, as in my case, you're pretty much unable to make eye contact with anyone until you're forty!
(and even then, it's incredibly stressful and difficult)

during therapy this morning, she was doing well
all of a sudden - WHAMO - she can't see anything and her pupils are unresponsive to light
Glad she’s good to go, but I hope they get to the root causethanks for asking
the hospital at JCMC (had them take her back there bc that's where she had her surgery) ran a lot of tests on her to see why the temporary blindness happened
they haven't found any reason for it yet, and she's seeing fine today
