New Arizona Immigration Law

your rights weren't violated... this is a message board, and my profiling of you didn't lead you to go to jail because you didn't have your license with you on a stroll and you jaywalked and a cop felt like that's a good enough reason to suspect someone is an illegal alien.
You're actually afraid of this, aren't you?

ha ha ha ha

so your concern is that legal citizens will get deported?

ummmmmmm, yes. it terrifies me that somebody that has proved their worth to this country has to put up with this crap.

because your civil rights as a white man in this country will never be treaded on... AND YOU KNOW IT... has it ever happened to you, yet, in this country???

Perhaps you should read back a little, I grew up in the same south Nashville town you did and I was pulled over frequently just because I was a young male and fit the late night demographic the police suspected would be involved in criminal activity.

Profiling happens all the time by certain officers and many times it is the easiest way they can prevent crime, take guns off the street, drugs off the street etc. The sad thing is had the federal government been doing its job state and city governments wouldn't have to.

you're definition of diverse is different from mine... go to neyland stadium... not much diversity

I would say that the gameday population of Neyland Stadium is a pretty good reflection of the demographics of the area and of the nation as a whole.

Better than the crap they get from the stereotypes of illegals. I'm sure the legal immigrants who have been American citizens for a long time would love to be considered Americans and live lives without any negative stereotyping, but that isn't happening until they illegals are gone.

i'm concerned somebody will have to go to jail since they didn't have their I.D. on them while breaking a minor law
Yeah, can't wait until that happens.

Could this be abused? Yes. Will it? Probably at times. Will it benefit the legal immigrants of Arizona, whether they're white or Mexican? Yes. It's a good thing.

It's wrong. I'm not offended. I don't feel like my rights were violated, either.

Most of those questioned wouldn't be either. Most don't when it will eventually benefit them in taxes, jobs, and shutting down the illegal drug running. Or possibly save their life. They may even turn a few in.

Lot of return for a few questions.

Cash cant be this naive. He is just doing this to get you guys riled up.

"The new group You Don't Speak for Me! formed when Col. Al Rodriguez became fed up watching media coverage of the mass protests of April. "Their leaders were saying it was a march for immigrant rights and a Latino/Hispanic movement," says Rodriguez. "I thought to myself, 'Hey, those are illegal aliens, not immigrants!'" Col. Rodriguez began speaking out to others saying, "I'm of Hispanic ancestry and those people are acting like they speak for me. Well, you don't speak for me!" "
You Don't Speak for Me

There you go Cash!!

hell i grew up in west LA and was regurally pulled over late night when i was young. sometimes cops are bored.

THere's ZERO profiling going on there... EVERYBODY has to do that... that's the whole point... this law targets one specific ethnic group and hence illegal

Don't really see how this will work and you can bet there will be profiling but outside of that what is AZ gonna do with the illegals I'm sure they don't have a seperate immigration policy with Mexico do they keep them in jail and how much would that cost. For better or for worse the federal government sets immigration policy and that is how it is.

And that is part of the problem, the federal government sets the laws and policy yet they do not enforce it leaving states and cities to foot the bill for the criminal illegals they do catch.

ok. fine. would you support random checkpoints where every person had to show an ID?

Easy reason. For those that want something done about it they yell "We have a bill in place".

All the while realizing the are literally millions of votes to be had on election day. Mostly by the libs, but some of the right has fell in this mud as well.

We arrested an illegal on drug trafficking charges. He was sentenced and served a short time and was then deported. 2 years later, he is living across the street from where the raid was done.
