I don't mind signing three stars, I'm definitely not one to whine about it. We've won championships with plenty of them. But this guy just doesn't seem liked an SEC caliber player in comparison to the other guys we have committed IMO

Either way, welcome aboard and best of luck to you. Thanks for choosing TN and I trust in Coach Jones. Go Vols!

This commitment is probably a good get. Every year I am sure Cincinnati signs a few players good enough to play any where. Jones is cherry picking those recruits from Cincinnati.

Rivera was a 3 star and Cam Clear a 4 star... I rest my case..... Some of these comments are such a joke.... Every player doesn't need to be an NFL all pro player.... Good take IMO.....

True, but wouldn't you agree that at least 1 or 2 from this class should be high caliber?

Is it not fair to at least be concerned by the overall level of talent Tennessee is signing compared to our competition?

You all kill me. I've been on this board for 9+ years, lurking for the most part, and it just kills me to see people bashing recruiting when I am sitting here watching a UF team full of 4 and 5 * recruits getting their a$$es handed to them. You all think it's about stars and I would say that 33% is physical ability and 66% is coaching which is what is what is showing up tonight. This has been the case with several of our teams in the past 20+ years for us as well.

You all saw the stats on Strong...first several years... nothing worth mentioning on his coaching resume, then finally some light! Give it a break and let the coaching work its magic! Just my two cents and wanting the best for CBJ and this staff. I wanted Strong and some of his staff and we still hired better than we had! We will see where we go in two years. Give CBJ a year to get a win we were not supposed to get, and they will pull better talent recruiting wise.

Sorry a lot of Tito's vodka talking while on vacation in New Hampshire. BTW it's -2 degrees outside! Damn I need to be back in Frankln.

There is no doubt about it, and you're probably right... Lets just hope they know what they're doing.... Another position that Dooley didn't recruit correctly IMO...

Nothing wrong with some 3 stars but u have to sprinkle in some true play makers n most of those guys r higher than 3 stars..

Every team will have a 3 star be great but on avg 3 stars dont beat 4 or 5 stars...

Bj is on the clock n volnation thinks this coach is going to win championships with players that were recruited to cincy r up for a rude awakening.

Yes he might win one or two games he is an underdog but compete with the big boys he will not with 3 stars...

Thanks and I'll try not too ..lurk so much and also get alcohol poisoning. Hard not to when the temps are -20 outside...Yikes!

I am just as adamant about my VOLS regaining their position in the SEC. I have to deal with Candy fans everyday and it's gotten old the last couple of years. I bring up stats but there is nothing like the present. The past holds no weight with today's youth. The here and now is all it is about! The last two glory days I've had beside the NC was the '04 UF game and the home opener against Cal after our dismal '05 season.

Here's to my shot of Patron silver and me hitting the sack. Skiing tomorrow in single digits doesn't sound so fun now!

Totally agree. Don't take my comments wrong. We will still need to recruit a couple of 4 or 5 *'s to get to the next level, even if its just to help recruiting overall.

Let him coach his first game before you start bashing him. Or better yet, give him 1 season before you jump all over him. Of coarse he can't recruit just 4 and 5 star players. Plus, UT has SUCKED for the past 5 years. Most kids want to go to top programs that have a chance to win a National Championship. We have done nothing to prove we are a top program to recruits over the past few years so, SURPRISE, we aren't getting the top recruits. They are all going to places like Bama and Oregon because they are the top programs right now.

Let Butch Jones win a few games and then you will see 5 star players looking at UT again. If you think we are going to land 5 star players just because we are UT and we play in the SEC you are sadly mistaken. Winning games brings recruits. SO...lets see if he can coach up the players and get some wins. If he does, you'll see us on the short list for all the top players in the county. If he doesn't, we'll be looking at another short list of potential coaching candidates. Its pretty simple...
