We are about 14 th in the SEC. How is that going to work for us?
also im not saying 3 star recruits are all bad, but we are stealing guys that are from vandy and cincy. there offer lists are far from great. like i said diamonds in the rough maybe, but you can't take 15 of these types of players. this is not the big east.
Think we're talking about two different things. I'm talking about the last few years.
This year, right now, with 15 commits we are not where we need to be. Coach Jones has 5 to 10 more to add to this class.
You're right...we better not be 14th in the sec after nsd.
imo 5th to 7th would be exceptable.
If we could get to 5-7 in SEC this year that would be a really great job by the staff with as little time as they have to make it work.
Every player that signs with UT on signing day, despite who initially recruited them, is committing to play for our current staff. This staff's very first recruiting job was rerecruiting UT's current commits.
Blind prognostication and knee-jerk judgments are fun, I guess?
Perhaps, with less than a month on the job, with a roster to fill, and knowing the type of talent that can be successful in his system, CBJ is recruiting the athletes he feels have a good chance of being a success in his system?
Maybe?
Or, he's just going through a list of three stars and making blind telemarketing calls...
So... By this logic we should stop recruiting all 5 star players and stick to three stars. Got it.
OK Mr. Genius. What do you propose we do? 4 and 5 star guys ARE being pursued. With the limited time the staff has to recruit this year and considering our terrible record, do you believe we should just drop all 3 stars and just go after the 4 and 5's? What if the 4 and 5's go elsewhere?
That's right, you don't have a solution. You just want to whine and complain. Par for the course for you.:cray:
Check out Stanford's recruiting classes....they can compete with anyone in the country....intelligent above average athletes with superb coaching. Virginia Tech also.....even Boise State the last few years is another team along that lines.
Superior coaching is huge to develop players and get the most out of one...if the kid is genetically gifted all the better but the player development/coaching up side is huge for teams like that and proven so far that it works.
