New forum: Coaching Rumors and Speculation

We won't know anything for certain until AD Hart stands before the press and makes the announcement.

We're all tired of waiting but we have no other choice.

VFL...GBO!!!

It's the Big East for god's sake..And 2 losses to UConn and Syracuse?? If Strong gets the job I'll support him because he's UT's coach..But his record in the Big LEast is not a defensible reasonto hire him...

BTW, here's the results from a 10-2 record just FILLED with heavyweights:

PS- Chris Petersen is my choice

Name 10 players who have come out of Louisville to play on Sundays ? he has won at a basketball school 1 His defenses at UF sure kicked our tails , so lighten up Francis !

Seems like it was just yesterday that all these names were being dropped for head coach.... then BAM.... Derrick Dooley....

I hope this aint deja vu

AND.... he's winning with "Big East" level talent because that's what you can get to L'ville AND more importantly what he inherited. UL KNOWS his value and has publicly stated that they will make him the highest paid coach in the country if necessary.

I believe they are moving to the ACC, right? If so... they see a REAL opportunity with him at the helm.

Wait... you just laid out a diatribe about a guy who even with JUST his coordinator credentials would be qualified for an SEC HC job.... then say that Peterson is your choice? You really want to poo-poo the competition L'ville plays then ask for a guy who walked into a program that was already built then "succeeded" against Boise's schedule?

The BSU program was built by Koetter and Hawkins.

Koetter failed at ASU and was fired. Hawkins failed at Colorado and was fired.... see any pattern here among guys who were great playing 11 scrimmage games per year then a bowl?

I'm hearing it's going to be Petrino. Anyone hear this?

That sounds more like the wishful thinking of idiots. If it is true... then Hart and everyone associated with the hire needs to be fired before the contract can be signed.

Archie Manning talking about coaching changes didnt really hang on the UT Gundy offer, he said Fulmer should have never been fired.............the way it worked out, hindsight 20/20

Fulmer was given a chance to get his act together for more than 5 years. He failed and was fired. It wasn't like his problems were created in one year. Discipline was terrible. His recruiting evals were poor. He couldn't keep talented players eligible. He had little discipline with his coaches.... and the results started to show it.

His last "great season" was really an indication that he had settled into a 2nd tier role. UT backed into the CG. They were blown out by Cal, UF, and Bama. He "managed" the rest of the season against a fairly weak schedule. None of the past 4 years would have been better with Fulmer. They would have probably been worse considering how poorly his recruiting and discipline were.

The glaring weakness in his recruiting were the OL and DL. He flat out could not convince quality linemen to play for him anymore.

Regarding the Petrino talk, I was told by an Auburn buddy that they uncovered more skeletons in his closet (i.e. at least one other mistress). I'm guessing he does not land another high profile job if this is true.

in a year or two, when the heat dies down, petrino will be back somewhere with a big time job. Right now, he's too hot to hire.

It was just reported on the EA show that Tressel has been contacted by UT

Tressel would be a big name hire, and he's a good coach judging by his success at OSU... but I have a feeling that he is one of those names that gets dropped at every school that needs a new coach...

Just like Gruden....

Just like Cowher....

hart needs to be fired. he has shown to be incompetant at best. there is a reason why he was not retained at FSU.
