taking a wait and see approach. With Dooley, he immidiately felt like Mike Shula to me. With Strong, it seems to be an average hire, not a spectacular hire. makes me wonder about the organizational structure at TN, something must be amiss.
what I hear from a lot of fans is that returning the team to "good" is not the final destination, we want to compete for the east every year. not sure Strong is the man, but it sounds like he is Coach, so we'll cheer for him and hope for the best.
BUT given that Hart had over a year to prepare for this hire, I can't help but wonder what deal he screwed up first.
Look at who they have to play against tho...miles, saban, spurrier
Urban had heart problems coaching in the SEC and is now at Ohio State. Tennessee is 4th at best in the SEC East behind Muschamp, Reicht, and Spurrier, not to mention the SEC West Coaches. Nobody wants this pressure cooker as we have been turned down by coaches that are not satisfied where they are. Looking like the Best Available Coach out there that would take the job might be Jim Tressel. Better go after him before we once again make shambles of our coaching search, and end up with someone that even might do worse than Dooley as some other SEC programs have already hired good coaches.Yes. People are afraid to come coach here because its become a dumpster fire. This has become the school where coaches come to get tarnished. Look at who they have to play against tho...miles, saban, spurrier
Strong is turning Tennessee down. Wow. Where does UT go from here? Has Dave Hart just royally screwed this whole thing up? This could be a disaster felt over the next decade if he ends up digging at the bottom of the bucket for a coach. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...ouisville-charlie-strong-extension/index.html
why's cheek interviewing him and not Hart
