New York City

I was assuming violent crime would be the murder, rape, and assault categories.

Here is a question to ponder. Do you think the 7 categories are reported as much today as they would have been in 2000? I would think things like murder and assault would have to be similar, but the other 7 categories perhaps not.
Personally I wouldn't think most would meaningfully change, except that I would think (and hope) that rape is more likely to be reported now than in 2000

Perhaps you are correct about rape.

I would think burglaries and grand larceny to be much less reported today versus the past.

how is it counted, when lets say 4 immigrants beat a cop, and then the AD lets them out without bail? Just as a hypothetical.

for some reason I doubt that ends up in too many crime statistics if the ones doing those statistics aren't fully treating the crimes like crimes.

They were charged, I assume with assault. No bail doesn’t mean no consequences

Are you really going to bring up minimum wage in this conversation? NYC's minimum wage is around $15 hr, who in NYC is making $15hr? Also in a previous post you mentioned people leaving because they can work from home and not pay NYC rent, minimum wage workers aren't working from home so which is it?
10 years ago I had a cook transfer from one of my locations in GA to NY city. Restaurant is in Times Square. She was making $14 an hour from us in GA ten years ago. When she transferred they brought her up to $22. Again, ten years ago. No one, outside of special needs and high schoolers, are making minimum wage.

See like this tabloid stuff only works on people outside of NYC, if you told anyone here that TS is “back to the bad old days” you would get laughed out of the city
Your opinion is the outlier not the common consensus.
I know a lot of people there. Lived there 10 years.
You can kick cry and lie but the place has returned to the shithole it once was.

I’ve been here 10 years too and my parents lived in the “****hole it once was”; as far as I know the people you know are largely in Long Island. NY Post is a tabloid lol, when that’s what you’re implying is “consensus” you should reevaluate

This was “the bad old days” when TS was sleazy and legitimately unsafe. NY Post sees someone smoking weed or something and says that’s the exact same thing lol

The assault numbers on the rise, should be at least concerning to you.
Any rise in crime is concerning, but it sounds like the numbers for 2023 were down across the board. Meanwhile NY Post is acting like you can't walk through Times Square without getting stabbed by Mickey Mouse

He supports everything liberal regardless of the subject. He and BowlBro are the two biggest sheep on the board

I think felony assault numbers are increased from 2022, which includes stabbings. Again, this was one of the categories that was highest in the last 20 years.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I lived and worked in NYC for 21 years--was there twice last year.
It got hit hard by Covid but has bounced back nicely. New York will always be New York and nowheresville will
always be nowheresville. Rubes always like to trash big cities when they've hardly ever left their backwater counties.

You go to UT? Why would you go to a university in such a place?
You constantly demean country folk, farmers, and are an *******. Go back to your **** city.
