2x it’s happened so far this season. Low IQ basketball plays will end your season quickly in a tournament sport. That’s something they just can’t have happen again.

Yeah if we win those 3 games and drop a couple to like Arkansas or Miss State, then that should hopefully balance out in terms of NCAA seed. I just really don't want a 5 seed to play a 12 seed again

The 5-12 upsets haven’t been as prominent the last several years. If you look at every tournament after 2014 you’ll see:
2015 - 0 12 seed wins over 5 seeds
2016 - 2
2017 - 1
2018 - 0
2019 - 3
2020 was covid
2021 - 1
So in the last 6 tournaments there have been 7 upsets in 24 games. That’s a 29% clip, far below the norm since 1985. During that same stretch there have been 5 4-13 upsets (21%, which is dead on the average since 1985). Since 1985 there is certainly I huge advantage going from a 5 seed to a 4. Since 2015 that gap has narrowed a lot. I think the reason why is because the best mid-majors used to get 12 seeds. Gonzaga, for example. Now those teams are getting much better seeds. The Butlers, VCUs, and so on don’t get 12s anymore. They’re single digits.

In the small chance that it isn't an act, then it's clear that you just have some delusional expectations and your attempts to justify/support them are all over the map dependent on how well they do/don't strengthen your garbage argument. So resetting a bit, Tennessee made it through the 10 game slate 6-4 which is what the expected record of a Top 10-15 team in that span would’ve been. The good news is that they’ve still yet to drop a game at home and all 6 losses are considered Q1 losses. The bad news is Tennessee hasn’t been able to get many Q1 wins which will likely limit their ceiling for seeding in the NCAAT. I’ve maintained 21-9(12-6) should be the goal to reach, it would exceed preseason projections, should have us around 3/4 seed line (4 most probable), would almost certainly be Top 4 SEC finish meaning double bye in SECT.

We are at 14-6(5-3) with 10 games remaining, so needing a 7-3 finish or better to reach that mark, here’s the slate…

At a minimum 3-1 has to be record over next 4, a loss at Mississippi State doesn’t hurt you but definitely shrinks your margin of error.
