Tonight is the biggest game of the year, imo. A win is huge. Probably, almost guarantees a double bye in the SEC Tourney and another potential Quad 1 win and moves UT firmly into a 4th seed in "The Big Dance". A loss will not be catastrophic, but will make everyone of the above scenarios, just a little harder to achieve. If UT wins and takes care of Vandy @ TBA, then the UK game becomes the biggest game of the year, next week
The next game is always the biggest game. But win tonight and Saturday against Vandy, then the UK game becomes a battle for 2nd in the SEC and another Quad 1 winI would tend to agree with everything you said, except that the UK is also the biggest game of the year lol. I think there is only one “biggest” game and I do think this might be it. Your first game post-ORN injury. A win virtually guarantees you a Double Bye. A win also allows you to play with house money the rest of the way and makes the UK and Auburn games nice resume boosters but not a “must win.”
All that being said, a loss doesn’t kill you but at some point we need to string together a nice little win streak and what better time to do that than now.

Yeah, right now UK is at least a 2 seed, probably a 1 seed. So a loss wouldn't hurt at all, even @TBA, but a win will be gigantic. Plus, nothing gives me as much joy as busting the Mildcats a$$, in basketballYeah, true. I just don’t care that much about the UK game right now. I think it’s big but a loss to a Top 3-5 team will never hurt you. A loss to MSU wouldn’t be awful but a win can really relieve a LOT of pressure down the stretch.
I wanna see data tomorrow, but sure feels like outside the first 3 minutes our double post lineups didn’t go much, and our small ball was effective…now a major issue is staying out of foul trouble with that lineup, but still. This was an impressive win but I’m still worried about our non-Fulk/JJJ/Plav bigs. Aidoo showed the most to me personality. I guess you probably can’t do the Bailey/Powell thing with Aidoo and BHH but I would be tempted to
Yeah, the only thing I didn't like was that 15 foot jumper, early in the shot clock. Although, if he hit it, it would have been niceLiked what he did, didn’t try to do too much offensively which is a blessing for this team…I would throw him out there in more 4+1 lineups…let him block shots, try and get rebounds, garbage put backs.
Losing the double bye is extremely improbable, now, outside of a total collapse (doing worse than 4-3 in our last 7). We have a 2-gm lead and the tiebreaker over our two closest opponents in the standings (Florida and MSU). LSU is 3 back and we split with them. Bama is 3 back and owns the H2H tiebreaker, but the odds of Bama running the table and us losing 3 games is extremely slim.Ok, we sit at
We face Vandy, KY, @AR, @MO, AU, @GA, AR. I think we lose to both KY and AU. We don't match up well against either. I think we split with AR. That leaves Vandy, GA, and MO. I think we win 2 of those three. Even if we win one of those I pegged as losses, that puts us at 17-6 8 -3 20-10 or 21-9, 11-7 or 12-8. Does that put us at a double bye?
You feeling better now about surpassing 19 wins?Ok, we sit at
