Next game (Links): NCAAT - Sunday 3/31/2024 (2:20pm CBS) Purdue

LSU:
Looks like the biggest concern is 2 upperclassmen guards that each average about 15ppg.

Jordan Wright - 6’5” 226
Jalen Cook - 6’0” 205

They have lot of players in a balanced rotation. Balanced stats.

A couple of bigs:
Will Baker - 6’11” 240
Jalen Reed - 6’10” 230

We will need another balanced scoring attack against LSU like we had against Kentucky.

I know the final 4 games of the season will be the biggest determining factor on how the SEC standings shake out and where we end up being seeded. But that Texas A&M and Arkansas road stretch coming up will be huge to come out of 2-0. If we win both of those, there’s a solid opportunity to go 6-0 leading up to the Auburn game at home.
Arkansas is currently a mess playing on the Missouri / Vandy level although the “on any given night” factor is always in play. A&M will be a challenge as they have a guard who can get as hot as Dillingham was Saturday.

I think 8-2 is the goal here to at least grab a share of the regular season title. Have to at least win 5 of next 6 games before that rough final four game stretch. Would be really nice to win all 6 then only have to split final four games. Let’s just get to 14-4 or better and that will be a solid overall regular season.

Only 4 home games left. This season is going by fast.

At TXAM will be a good test for whether this team has some dog in them. Difficult place to play and we need to grab some road wins to make up for USCjr.

Do the cheer boys in their white outfits show up for basketball games?

TXAM is 5-4 in the SEC

Home vs LSU - loss
At Barn - loss
Home vs KY - win
At Arkansas - loss
At LSU - win
Home vs Mizz - win
Home vs Ole Miss - loss
Home vs Florida - win
At Mizz - win

At LSU and vs Mizz were one-sided final scores. Other than Barn, all 6 others were one or 2 possession wins/losses.

14-8 (5-4).

They lost their T25 ranking in the middle of December and haven’t gotten it back. A win over TN would be huge for them and greatly improve their chances of an NCAAT invitation. It’s going to be hostile and Buzz is a very good coach.

Only 1 game against the current top 4 teams? Guess their schedule is backloaded also.

Nice turnaround after their home beat down by LSU. They went to LSU a couple of weeks later and won. Buzz is a really good coach.

I’m concerned if our inconsistent offense shows up. 8pm (7pm local) start. It will be a Rupp-like atmosphere. But hopefully with a similar result. Dalton thrives in opposing gyms.

Junior guard Wade Taylor IV, the SEC Peseason Player of the Year, is the Aggies' leader in both points (19.7) and assists (3.6) per game, the former of which is fourth in the SEC.

TN is on a 12 game winning streak versus Vandy. The longest ever in the series.

Edit: Never mind. UT currently has a one game winning streak. 11 is the record and Vandy ended it with that 3-pointer at the buzzer on 2/8/2023 in Memorial.
