Nick Stephens

I've seen mediocrity face to face and his name is Phillip Fulmer.

Sorry, crusse. I respect your knowledge and you are a good debater, but I have to call experience on you here.

You simply do not know what mediocre at TN means.

Unless you are a mature student. Then, welcome to your opinion, and I would ask how on earth the 2000s compare with the 1970s.

I will say this, 2005 was perhaps the most disappointing season between expectations and where we ended up. Even over the 1970's and early 80's.

Wow. Did he have that lack of focus earlier in the season. If that's the case, sounds like he had bad coaching all year...

I'd put the late 2000s against any other decade for mediocrity. We were losing games we should win, getting crushed in games that should be close, and accepting it all because we hadn't seen the film yet.

your idol only won 2 in 17yrs. Who would be our HC in this magical fantasy decade?

in Knoxville? No you don't

It could be Phil, it could be another coach who consistently gets Tennessee into the SECCG. As I've said, it is important to get to the SECCG consistently. Every three years will be hard to beat.

Who said Knoxville? TN's fifth largest city though. Intellectual honesty, utvolpj. Put it into practice.

Facts are facts:

J. Crompton 8 98.13 86-167-5 51.5 889 4 63 111.1
Nick Stephens 7 108.28 63-130-3 48.5 840 4 60 120.0

The future NFL QB couldn't get separation on the starter at Chainsaw Massacre State.

You get a GSM, and a clear demonstration of data driven debate!

I'll let everyone draw their own conclusions:

1970-1979
W: 75
L: 39
T: 3
Winning Pct: 64%
Bowl Record: 4-2
SEC Champs: 1979

2000-2009
W: 83
L: 44
Winning Pct: 65%
Bowl Record: 3-6
SEC Champs: N/A

If it seems like Florida's there an awful lot, it's because they've been there 10/18 times. I wonder if their good coaching has something to do with it. I mean...They rarely had a problem beating us

The irony of that being said right before you get statistically owned is sweeeeeeeeeet

real trolls never let facts get in the way. He successfully turned this into a Fulmer debate rather than a discussion about Nick. He wins and we're all dumber for it

You think we won the SEC in 1979??????????? :eek:lol: It's the only time I can remember losing to BOTH Mississippi schools!

As I have said, you don't remember the 1970's.

crusse, I'm disappointed. You don't have to be corrupted by the GoF.

1973 - 4 losses (one a bowl loss)
1974 - 3 losses (2 ties, including Vandy)
1975 - 5 losses (North Texas among them)
1976 - 5 losses
1977 - 7 losses
1978 - 5 losses (5 wins, 1 tie)
1979 - 5 losses

I'm already at 34 losses, KPT. And given GoF logic, a TIE in the old money is definitely a LOSS.

Wipe your noses, juniors. You deserve this humiliation.

See above, crusse. It's disappointing you fall to GoF level sometimes. Again, make sure your DATA makes sense.

Use this as a lesson. Sometimes when we are broken, we grow stronger in the broken places.....

Fail.

But, I didn't expect more from you, to be honest.

Uh? What? I didn't include ties in the winning percentage, thus, they did count as losses. Why did avoid counting the three best years of the 70s? Should we subtract 2001 from Fulmer?

1970 - 2 losses
1971 - 2 losses
1972 - 1 loss
34 + 5 = 39

75/(75+39+3) = 0.64

Thanks, junior.

actually it's spot on. You seem to have no real grasp of reality and your fantasy of "remembering the 70's" is pretty funny. You're at least consistent but that's not always a good thing
