Okay, so let's raise our game caring A LITTLE BIT for intellectualy integrity.

why should we when you don't?

a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

perfect example is that this thread was about NS but you turned it into a Fulmer discussion and repeat your same tired lines.

That's not the point.

The point is to improve on SECCG every three years.

That's the metric of success.

2010 = YEAR THREE, but I'm letting you off the hook - this year.

Success is winning your league and competing nationally against the best of the best. Fulmer didn't do that since the last 90s.

No it's not.

Winning SECCGs are the metric of success.

Going to BCS bowls and not getting embarrassed is another metric of success.

Beating Florida more than three times a decade is another metric of success.

So prior to Fulmer getting fired, we were so bad as to be smashed by South Carolina. Yet, after his firing we manage to beat a team that beat the Gamecocks and a team that nearly beat them. And it is your contention that firing Fulmer made the team worse.

I just want to be 100% clear that is your explanation.

It's not. My explanation has been always five simple words:

The Hambone Hangover wore off.

Now, explain to me why you either 1. can't grasp such simplicity, or 2. are purposefully trying to obfuscate.

Wait, I already know the answer....

Fine.

You haven't done any of it.

Have you written a book on your conspiracy theories? I'm sure someone, somewhere, would be willing to read it. Perhaps the squirrely little guy in National Treasure?

That is absolutely not the metric of success. Phil Fulmer stated definitively before every season of his career that his goal was to win the SEC. Thus, the improvement that must occur is in that category.

Fine.

You haven't done it.

Moreover, I was trying to help you out by giving what I consider a metric of success (playing for the SEC).

Right now, your solution should be producing this minimum metric. However, I let you have a pass - this year.

So, firing Fulmer only affected the team for 1 game? Your ultimate legend gets the can, but the team bounces back that quickly to beat a team that beat the team that absolutely thrashed us two weeks ago? Face it, we played like garbage prior to Fulmer getting canned, then managed to play well enough to beat Vandy a couple of weeks after the firing. It's just as logical to give the "Hambone Experiment" credit for beating Vandy as it is to blame it for the loss to Wyoming.

Where is the conspiracy?

Hambone fired Fulmer the week of Wyoming. Even LWS said it created a maelstrom for the week's preparation....

You don't have to make things up. It is what it is.

The team recovered, and won two more ballgames. Without the distractions, they beat Wyoming and go to a bowl.

And? It took the best coach in the country 3 years to win the conference with Alabama. You expecting results 3 times faster here?

So, in your eyes, Fulmer's job was to get to the SECCG. The outcome didn't matter, as long as he got there. Correct?

Preparation should not be required to beat a garbage MWC so bad they fired their coach. How do you explain our defense smothering the Cowboys and our offense puking on their cleats just like they did every game that season? Defense was good, offense was terrible, just like every game in 2008.

I know you don't have a career as the next Bertrand Russell, but wow! I don't think I've seen a worse flow of logic in all my years.

You simply can't be serious, (troll).

Fulmer's firing had no bearing on the 2 passes Gingy threw to Wyoming.

So, it's preposterous that the team could rally to send Fulmer out on a good note? Whether you admit it or not, Vandy and Kentucky were about on par with South Carolina, who absolutely murdered the Fightin' Fulmers in his last game before the firing was announced.

To be quite honest, I don't blame or credit the firing with any wins or losses. Fulmer gets it all.

Does 6-6 including ridiculous losses to our rivals count as a success for you?

Yes. In another decade, the breaks go our way and we win all three.

I would certainly LOVE to have a Saban-calibre coach here (although there is no guarantee Saban can win at TN with the different recruiting matrix). However, it is important to have a coach who can at least consistently get us in that game.

Right now, not so sure. Moreover, despite all this hyperbole, Fulmer remains our greatest recruiter, and he certainly had his foot on the gas again. I would rather have had that than risk what we have risked.

Plus, I strongly feel we have a bowl win in 2008 and a better 2009 than we had.

It's not what you kids want, but I remember what mediocre REALLY meant at Tennessee. I also remember when stores were closed on Sunday......

Hey and neither did Fulmer over his last what 9 years here.

But you fired him to improve on that. You haven't done it.

I'm giving you an easier target - just replicate Phil's success over the last nine years.

I'll be waiting, along with every other Vol fan. I have faith in Dooley.

1. Fulmer made that bullcrap claim about getting his "fire" back again after the 2005 season. And on that note, why is he always losing said "fire" and simultaneously being praised for "giving his all" for Tennessee?

2. I doubt you're older than me. You've never given your age.

I've seen mediocrity face to face and his name is Phillip Fulmer.
