Nico leaving?? [NOPE]

You are probably a great guy but you have the most negative piss poor attitude anytime something has even a hint of adversity. Get some resolve and strive for perfection to obtain excellence. I believe you can do it.

Lol. I just read a post with you bashing everyone but Nico.

They are now employees of the university so I don’t see an issue with it. My work has policies and rules I don’t like but if I want to get paid I have to follow them.
They're not yet employees but even if they were, does the university prohibit other employees from using social media? I'm doubtful they do except to restrict "bringing shame on the school" or whatever those clauses say in contracts.

Unless the players are taking unauthorized pics or videos of practice or restricted buildings, I can't imagine their social media is much different than any other school employee of their age.

measured by age they had both been on a college football practice for 2 years Peyton won starting job by 6th game his True Freshman year. Both practiced every day for 2 years, but Nico had more practice had the 2022 Spring, Peyton didn't join the team at Bowl practice Nico did he had a little more college practice experience time than Peyton when all was said and done. Counting his skipping senior spring HS to enroll early
Dang. That’s some revisionist history. Peyton didn’t win it. He played because starter Jerry Colquitt tore his ACL on the first series of the season and backup Todd Helton was injured a few games later and decided to focuse solely on baseball after that. The plan for Peyton was to redshirt him his freshman year. The only person he beat out as a freshman was fellow freshman Brandon Stewart who actually played better than Peyton when he actually got game reps.

You act like Nico got a full seasons worth of reps because he redshirted. Sorry to be a dick but grief some of you are beyond clueless.

Loser mentality....athlets would rather make the playoffs and have a chance than take the easy road which no one will care about.

Do you think Arkansas fans will care that they won the liberty bowl in a week? Nope...just like you don't care that we beat Iowa last year in a meaningless bowl game.
Celebrating an embarrassing loss is a winning mentality?

At the end of the day, both are meritless.

Winning a meaningless bowl game or getting humiliated in prime time in a playoff game.

Neither have any value.

Valid concern if that’s what he’s referring to. 8 million in college is insane, but at some point if we don’t get him the wideouts/ OL it could affect his draft stock.

True, but he also needs to improve with his decision making.

I get that he isn't Hooker or Dobbs or Manning but the NIL was based on the potential for him to be able to do what those players did.

And I for one was hoping to see him transform into that type of player this year - he didn't.

Everyone take a deep breath lol
Tennessee had Nico’s back in an epic way. Would be pretty lame to turn his back on a program that’s put him at the center of it. What Nico needs is pieces around him not another school. This is why I’ve been frustrated by the lack of portal additions at a couple of key positions. I guess they’ve decided to focus on the post spring portal period??

No one has a bigger interest in Nico doing well and learning than Nico. It's extremely lucrative for him to become the absolute best college QB he can become in decision making, accuracy, poise, and efficiency in getting the ball out.

It's not as though he doesn't realize college, and college NIL money, is nothing compared to the money a successful NFL QB makes.

I'm sure he wanted to have a better year too and I'm certain he wanted to still be in the CFP on New Year's Day and beyond.

While we might doubt if his coaches are giving him the right coaching, I don't think we can doubt that Nico is doing everything he can to improve.

And?

Alabama is above average and Florida is terrible.
Lol, And?

You people are so silly it's almost sad. No body is going to apologize for being happy about beating Alabama. Georgia would give their left testies to have beaten them this year. Lol. Dumb.

Florida. How many times did they beat us when we should have blown them out? You ever heard of the Florida curse? Many people would pick that game if you asked them "if we could only win one game who would it be?" Just because of " the curse" and now you're saying it's no big deal cause they're terrible???

😆

Obviously we all would have liked things to have gone differently, no one would argue that, but playing it all down is just dumb.

This is BS. A win is always better than a loss. If you would like to offer proof that Arky fans won’t care that they won their bowl game, then let’s see it. Think about it. You make the playoffs and then get embarrassed in the first round. Are most people gonna remember your good season? Or are they gonna remember you getting your teeth kicked in and thinking you didn’t belong in the playoffs? You end the season in a sour note of defeat.

Contrast that with a bowl game. Say you go 9-3 and make a good bowl game, against a good opponent and dominate. Are the fans gonna be happy about a dominating win? How about the coaches? Players? Boosters? Yeah I am sure all those people would trade getting humiliated in the playoffs just to say well at least we made it. With a dominating bowl win you finish the year on a big time high note with confidence and excitement going into the next season.

10-3 with a dominating bowl win is vastly better than 10-3 with a humiliating playoff loss.

and if they lose the Bowl game ?

I’m gonna take a chill pill on this one and see how it plays out. I think that the post was in reference to basically all of the receivers declaring, transferring out, or graduating. I hate to see Squirrel go because he’s a fan favorite, but in the past Heupel has been able to reload in the portal when kids leave. I don’t think that Nico is going anywhere. It’s not like he posted a picture of Southern California with Leavin On A Jetplane playing.

Who knows…maybe we are getting a big transfer kid in the portal next year and that’s why he chose the Bone Thugs song.
I’m gonna take a chill pill on the entire portal thing. No sense getting wound up till the dust settles and all the players are in place. Personally I’ll take a look around spring practice and see who we have. Not much sense in worrying about it till then and then mainly when they line up next fall. This is how it’s going to be moving forward so we might as well get used to it.

At this time last year we thought we'd have him for 2 years before he would declare. Meaning he'd be costing over $2.6 million a year. At this rate he's still here 2 more years meaning he's already earned 4 million. Money changes the game, you must perform to earn your pay. That's why you're seeing big qb's transferring with 1 season left, they can come in and make a difference. The portal definitely reduced the amount of patience fans will give coaches and players.

If Nico winds up starting 4 years here, Tennessee will have likely had lots of success with 40-45 wins over the period.

Wrong. Making the playoff has value. Would you rather tell recruits you were one of the twelve that made it or you were one of the 122 also rans? As far as I can tell nobody is celebrating the loss.

There isn't a good bowl game that isn't included in the playoffs. To say you would rather go to a mediocre bowl and win instead of having a chance is loser mentality.

How did beating the hell out of Iowa help us this year? Athl we ts want a chance l, ask anyone if they would rather make the NCAA tourney and get beat or win the NIT and 99% - 100% would not wanna be in the NIT.

Plus there is no guarantee that you win the bowl game. Look at Texas A&M they got beat, Oklahoma got beat.

My complaint about the cfp is the home field advantatge - play all games at neutral sites and in a dome or warm weather State - equal chances for all 12 teams that way

I can see that issue both ways. The #5 team should get an advantage against the #12 team that barely made the field.
