No Championship for UCONN

I want the vols back, but women's bball is terrible. For the announcers to say it's the biggest upset of all time in the final four is ridiculous , it was a two versus one seed. Women's bball is the same as it has been since the 80s. One team dominates and maybe two others have a shot.

The announcers did over-state it a bit.

Can't think of a bigger upset in my memory and ya'll know I've been around a long time.

Congrats MSU

That game was what WCBB needed....It was exciting with the outcome in doubt to the final buzzer....

UConn has been a great champion, but all champions are destined to lose their title at some point....

Hell of a good game.

Not to mention that it's great to see other teams in the mix. Last night's game had more social media coverage than any other women's game I can recall, and it's because another team stepped up to the UConn challenge.

I will say that I have to give credit to many (not all, but many) of the UConn fans who have been classy in defeat.

As much as I dislike Geno and UConn, I wouldn't publicly gloat over another's failure. It's low class. But I would gloat that the SEC is representing with an all SEC final! And for what ever reason I'm pulling for SC.

They certainly will be back everyone back and Stevens and Walker coming in they are loaded for next season. If Diamond comes back so are we and Texas as well. Miss St doesn't lose much and SC will again be terrific. ND has most of their players back and Baylor loses couple keys players so they could take a step down.

This is probably petty but im rooting for MSU. They deserve it. Plus i dont want Dawn and kaela to get one before Holly and Diamond

So I know it's still one more game but man. I think next years Champion will be up for grabs! Which I personally will find more interesting as an avid follower of the college game!
So many great teams and players? Next years draft class Will be pretty deep.

Totally agree - that was ridiculous and and I could not believe they didn't give Nurse a tech for that!

Pretty much what TO said, only he used "dirty":).

Re another item, You're being good; let's wait and see if any action. Sort of the 64 dollar question.:p

Edit: hey, T_V, the question got answered. Did you pick up on it?:):clapping:

Great win by State. I thought if UCONN won because of that Flagrant 1, the fix would have been in. Glad the streak is over.

The Fix WAS in. The only flagrant thing there was a flagrant flop by the UConn player, I had to check and make sure her last name wasn't Laimbeer (my basketball hero!). Look where she was holding her neck, she was never touched there. So the refs can come back a minute later and call something that happened right in front of them? And it can be the tying score? That's pretty crappy.

UConn will be the prohibitive favorite. The same team that dominated the regular season with the addition of height that was sorely missed in the MSU loss. And that's not even counting Walker and a couple more quality shooters.

The loss to MSU was the best thing that could've happened to WCBB, because there was the real risk that UConn would have racked up 200+ wins with the roster they'll have for the next two seasons.

Injuries is about the only thing that can detail them.

Where are all the UConn drive by posters?

Dealing with the Baylor drive-by posters on the Boneyard.

UConn:. "Kim should be ashamed! How could Baylor lose to MSU with all of of their talent?"

Baylor:. "I don't know. What's your excuse?"

Karma. Love it!

Vic exercised amazing self restraint not to get a technical when he got the news. Was so happy to see Chong suffer a brain cramp at an inopportune moment.

:hi:Lady Vols will have the players next year...unfortunately we are lacking a coach...hire either T. Catchings or K. Lawson now.

I think UConn losing helps us get Diamond back for another year! Know what we are bringing in and bringing back and that we defeated both teams playing in the finals, I think she wants to prove why she's one of the best and help UT try to do what either Miss State or SC is about to do

its a shame to see a team that clearly is worlds ahead of the rest of WBB not win the championship. like geno or not, there is absolutely no denying where he has his team. no team in the history of sports has dominated like UConn is right now

I don't think they are worlds ahead of the rest of the field. Other teams have challenged them, buy they gutted them out. They weren't even expected to be a FF team at the start of the season.

Last year was the dominant team.

Only to people with the deepest of orange colored glasses. It's not an either or proposition. Acknowledging Geno's accomplishments does not mean you are downgrading or disregarding Pat. Pat will always have her place no matter what Geno does, but to not acknowledge his place is a false narrative.

Doesn't matter one way or another, either or..Proclaiming CGA Greatest Coach of All Time IS a false narrative in and of itself..That was what my post addressed..Seeing as how you ASSUMED I was saying CGA wasn't must mean I believed CPS to be the GOAT, you obviously missed my point, glasses or no glasses, color be damned..IMO CGA is not the greatest coach of all time and seeing as how the measurements used differ from person to person, your opinion is YOUR opinion..I do, however, firmly believe if CPS had not been taken from WCBB when she was, and she had coached another few years, she would have set the bar so high that no coach could/would duplicate her accomplishments...That being said, and being MY opinion, CPS will/should always be in the conversation of GOAT..But as of right now there is no clear GOAT coach, only folks opinion of who it is for them..Congrats to CVS and Mississippi State for ending an INCREDIBLE streak accomplished by an excellent UConn team and for beating a great coach..Great but, IMO, not the GOAT....

How can you be worlds ahead when you get beat? Were they worlds ahead of Mississippi State last night? No.
