People like to talk about how bad the offense is in the SEC, but the ACC tournament hasn't exactly been a showcase for offense. UNC-Duke were at 9-8 after the first quarter yesterday (and 44-40 final score), and now Louisville is up 12-7 on Notre Dame after Q1.

It shouldn't matter to Tennessee, Louisville has 10 losses and is nowhere close to a 4 seed. Louisville's big victory was less about how good the Cardinals were in this game and more about Notre Dame being atrocious. It's one thing missing Miles on offense but the Irish were also outrebounded 43 to 32 and committed 22 turnovers (Bransford is not a functional point guard). Notre Dame should never get outrebounded by a considerably smaller Louisville. Under the circumstances (missing both point guards) it was a completely unacceptable statistic.

Notre Dame will still get a 3 or 4 seed but yeah, unless Citron can keep putting up close to 30 points (as she did in the two games prior to this one) the Irish will have a hard time beating good teams.

Save it for the boneyard. I’d say it’s considerably more terrible to have a young woman who has damaged her knee at least twice in one season continue to try to play.

I just saw where a board on the court needed to be repaired which caused the delay for the Duke-Va Tech game.

I think what you’re referring to is the leaking issue in Greenville, SC.

Yup, and now VT vs. Duke is at 13-9 at the end of the first quarter. I can't recall ever seeing so many single-digit quarters in this many games in any conference tournament.

I am relatively certain that Fudd made the decision herself to return now. As far as Auriemma allowing players who suffered injuries to return to the court potentially too early, I think the lack of caution shown with Caroline Ducharme is far more troubling than allowing Fudd to play. Ducharme entered the season with a neck injury and by all appearances suffered at least one and possibly more concussions on top of that. After sitting out a few games in concussion protocols she returned only to get reinjured. Instead of sitting her Auriemma kept using her all the way through today's game in which she has suffered another head injury in a collision with her own teammate (Aaliyah Edwards). As far as I am concerned Auriemma has failed in his responsibility to protect one of his players from potentially life-altering harm.

Duke has scored 118 points in the last 3 games combined. Could you imagine what vol nation would be saying about Kara Lawson's ability to coach if she were coaching the Lady Vols with that kind of offensive inefficiency? That is an average of fewer than 40 points per game.

I know I seem like a lunatic on here Lucy, but I’m really very laid back IRL. VolNation is my one and only fantasy land and Lady Vol basketball is seriously my only passion.

I developed a love for Tennessee and the women’s game as a kid in the 90s. Idolized Pat and her demeanor.

So glad this site exists for us all the share our love for the game. That’s why I created this thread a few years ago. Really nice to get to know people outside of the game threads where I am generally a total basket case lmao.

Don’t ask me why I’m so attached to Lady Vol basketball, I can’t even explain it. During the final couple Holly years it impacted my mental health in real life lol.

Hold on there!!! Lunatic is way too strong!! Maybe over caffeinated on occasion. We should probably all give ourselves, each other, the team and staff a break sometimes. Totally with you on the emotional trauma of the later Holly years. It is definitely easier to predict doom and then if good things happen be extra happy!! I try to stay positive but that is my general nature. That and being overly protective.
