Green Bays Head coach was a pretty Successful power 5 coach when he was at Michigan. He turned an absolutely terrible program around in 2-3 years prior to Arico-Barnes getting there. He left on his own accord because the Green Bay job opened up and he had roots there. He truly understands the game as his does his team with the the way they drive, pass, kick and find really good shots. Green Bay was just outmatched today size wise and overall skill
Exactly my thinking, Dak. Kevin Borseth is an excellent coach and teacher, and so for Kellie's bunch to beat his well organized and scrappy team so soundly for three quarters today was quite a feat, and we should ALL be proud of the win.
When the brackets came out I felt like Tennessee as a 6 had the potentially toughest 11 seed for the first round. Of course, in hindsight Louisville is over there raising their hands saying, "Ummmm... MTSU might be pretty darn tough!" ...
But anyway, I've always admired the way Borseth has run his program, and so I'll admit that even though we had some physical advantages over them on paper, I was worried about their ability to make quick cuts through the paint that either get buckets or draw fouls. In the past we'd sometimes struggled to defend teams like GB, so I was worried.
But dang! If anyone could watch that game from the second quarter on and somehow still manage to be unable to allow themselves a few smiles and positive feelings about the possibilities going forward, then those people really need to find another team to follow or another pasttime altogether, because this team deserves the benefit of the doubt.
It's tournament time! It's the one time of the year when the best thing for EVERYONE is to set aside all logic and concern and worry and doubt and just go all in for our team and our staff as they try to catch a little magic.
IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A WEAK PERSON IF YOU MAKE A CONSCIOUS DECISION TO CHOOSE JOY AND OPTIMISM FOR A THREE-WEEK PERIOD IN YOUR LIFE.
It really is okay, and a LOT OF FUN, to once a year just go nuts and not have to always feel like you have to be the one always ready and willing to "keep it real."
How about trying "keeping it fun" for a change? Seriously. It actually feels GREAT to choose to seek joy as you watch games instead of always seeking to find the worst of every game to use as ammunition to campaign for several families to lose their livelihoods.
BE BETTER. HAVE FUN.
