Do you guys really dislike the SC basketball team that much? Dawn has major respect for Pat & the lady vol program. Why knock what she's trying to build

In their defense, the weather was awful there, which kept a lot of people home who might otherwise have attended.

Many women's programs CHOOSE to play in a smaller gym because it makes a smaller crowd more effective. If you take 1500 fans and put them inside the cavernous TBA they'd have very little impact on the feel of the game. Put that same 1500 fans into a small gym where they're all closer to the floor and louder because the space isn't sucking all the sound up into the waaaay high rafters, then those fans can create an advantage for the home team.

I understand the sound advantage but what does that say to the young women playing? Here, be happy with less.

Sue Bird is officially back for her 19 season in the WNBA for the Seattle Storm talk about longevity

It's an amazing accomplishment for ANY professional athlete to work that many seasons, but to do it at a high level is almost unbelievable. I was thinking last year that kids today who tear an ACL and worry they'll "never be the same" or that their careers will automatically be shortened by a few years should look at Bird. She endured at least one major surgery on the knee -- maybe more, I can't remember -- and so many broken noses it got crazy, and she was able to have a long, looooooong career. Good for her.

I really wanted to watch the SC-LSU game last night. I had it on the channel, but I ended up seeing nothing except for Kim's shimmery, crystal-prism jacket. That thing was...mesmerizing. I think she's outdone herself by far with that look!

I have a problem with her longevity. The league is small, and many good players won’t even get drafted because there are so few spots. Sit down, Sue.

It's just another example of SCAR fans combing statistical minutia to try and build their team up. Your also the first team to put up a statue of a player that only won 1 championship. You are also the only team that put up a banner for votes. And you are the only team to ever blame the ball for a loss. Be a winning program for a few more years and you won't have to blow your own horn.

SC fans please come back anytime I was joking about your accomplishment. It was quite excellent job by the team. I will be cheering for you when you play UConn. I also need you to know I wanted Missouri to win and also LSU last night. We need you to lose a few conference games we don't have a home game with you this season.

Honestly, why SHOULDN'T South Carolina fans be trying to build their team up? What in the world is wrong with that? If fans of other programs don't like it, ignore it. I don't get why it is bothering people so much if South Carolina wants to be a little extra about their program since it wasn't that long ago it was a perennial cellar dweller and now is the biggest draw of fans in the country.

Seriously. Worry about your own program. Connecticut is in a weird place right now with the injuries, the cancellations, the transfers and your coach looking and sounding like he needs to be in rehab. Focus on YOUR program and get up out of SC's business.

Dawn may still want her there because they were not a big threat to SC when she was there. She knows Mulkey is going to get the recruits and going to LSU is going to be the most dreaded place to play.

To add I like Nikki but she had like 10 seasons to make that program elite. Support wanes when that doesn't happen. If Kim can't do it her support will go down as well. Holly had the support in the beginning and it started going down when she couldn't keep the program elite. That is the main gripe I have with what Dawn said. She acts like she should still have fan support after ten seasons several of the teams being middle of the league SEC teams and even lower. I guarantee if SC ever starts going down in winning to the extent that LSU did her support will go down with it. Fans want winners and right now LSU fans think Kim is going to bring that to them and thus far she has done quite well. I don't see them losing more than 4 conference games this season. That will be quite an accomplishment with her present roster.

I’m betting Bueckers is out for the season. He’s gonna try to make sure they have an excuse not to play in the NCAA tournament because he knows they are dead in the water.

You heard it here first. I won’t be shocked AT ALL if he retires after this season. He’s the kid on the playground who gets stuffed, cries and leaves with the ball.

This probably makes Florida the worst team in the SEC. She did not play last night in their huge loss to Ole Miss.

Sounds like she’ll be in the portal. Odd that the injury was pre-season but she’s been playing through it just fine until now.

Retire? Nah. He'd be leaving too much money on the table to do that. He clearly isn't enjoying his job anymore, but all that booze ain't gonna pay for itself. He's going to -- and should -- ride it out as long as he can. One awful season marred by circumstances mostly beyond his control won't be enough for him to throw in the towel. He'll want to prove he is still the top dog and go out strong.

But he is definitely miserable in his job, and this brief period of choppy waters has taken a toll on him mentally and physically. That much is obvious to anyone not living in Connecticut.
