Oops, got her mixed up with SIU Coachā€™s comments, still like her though.

Thought this was pretty funny.

From part of SIU Coach Steinā€™s comments:

ā€œI was hoping honestly with the CMA's tonight that the crowd would be really down. I felt like you got two things that can happen, either church service or CMA's. In this part of the country, it's God and country music isn't it. I was just hoping it's one of those two things, Wednesday you've got church right and CMA's. I was hoping the crowd was going to be more in the 1500s."

I LOVE Coach Jack. I wanted either her or Kim Mulkey when we were hiring. In hindsight Iā€™m so glad with how it turned out. Coach Jack can coach some dang basketball though. She also knows how to take that special player from ā€œreally goodā€ to ā€œelite.ā€

Better recruits for a coach who has not proven she can win other than talk her talk without being able to walk the walk. South Dakota put her in her place lol

Agreed, what she does with them will decide their fate though. I thought she recruited really well at Ole Miss considering, but did nothing with the players she got.

Austin and Scott have not improved one iota under her tutelage. Both extremely talented but coasted under Coach Yo. Austin regressed this season as did Scott IMO. Joni is very similar, can attract talent, but canā€™t take it from point A to point B.

Coach Jack at Buffalo is a coach who can get a player from A to B. You see her year in and year out take players who are almost there and she gets them ALL the way there. I believe Kellie has also shown she can take a mediocre player and get them contributing at a high level. Rae and Horston both improved immeasurably from Sophomore to Junior under Kellie. Key and Walker were also a ton better this season compared to last.

Agree, wouldnā€™t label either as great coaches right now, but Yo IMO, did more to progress her program in a short amount of time. Joni underachieved this year with some of her returning seniors. Not rooting for either to become great!

Not convinced Yo is a basketball mind though. Just like Joni I see a personality and a recruiter. Not an Xs and Os basketball coach. The crap she said before playing South Dakota is proof. No coach who understands the game would ever talk about an opponent like that before they play. South Dakota is fundamental and their coach understands basketball on that level. Love watching them

Video is in the non-lady vol thread a couple pages back I think. Basically said that SD had not seen th kind of defense Ole Miss plays and that they would struggle to score. That her team was more athletic and made it sound like USD didnā€™t stand a chance.

South Dakota routed them from the start just like Baylor. Played lockdown defense and great team offense.

I agree, they are fun to watch. Iā€™ve been watching the off and on this season because I took a liking to Hannah Sjerven her first year there. She reminds me of myself. Really physical player with a tough mindset. Not the most athletic person on the floor but she gets it done.

They are super well coached and seem like a tight knit team. They stick together when the going gets tough in games.

Hannah Sjerven is only 6-2 and plays the 5, But because she can shoot the 3 you need to go out and defend her.

Reminds me a little of some of Viv Stringer's Rutgers teams, but they could play basketball in addition to doing the schoolyard brawl routine. UCF concentrates on mixed martial arts.
