They actually have very good guard play as well, none of our Pg’s can guard them. I don’t know if she’s toxic, she just wants to win and doesn’t know how to control her emotions. I would still be happy if she was on our teamReese is toxic, how many teams really went after her on the portal. No surprise she ended up with Mulkey. She took a third of LSUs shots. When the REFs start calling fouls on her, LSU will become an average team at best. Shut her down and the LVs will beat the crap out of them.
That's true, but this is two #1 ranked HS recruits that have basically missed the majority of 2 seasons. Looking at it less from a team perspective and more from 1.) the players perspective of how their career has gone and 2.) from a WCBB fan perspective of being able to see the best players in action.Tennessee has suffered these injury bugs the last few seasons as well.
Note that the exchange is with Tea Cooper, who was shown the door here (and other places) years ago. Explains why Reese rec the Lady Vols game.Seems like Angel is ready to play us! Their crowd was rowdyyyy for the Arkansas game! Where did Mulkey get all those people from!
I’m ready for our 2 game stretch of UCONN and LSU. Even though UCONN is not full force, I believe they’ll be a good challenge for the team and a good barometer of where we actually are since the Stanford game. I appreciate our win streak, but it’s been against teams that one would expect us to win against. I need to see us play the big girls to truly see if we’ve made any progress.

That portal C/F is way more than hype. Has a double double in 19 straight games, including every SEC game. She's the real deal. Not sure how effectively we can shut her down.
Their freshman PG Johnson is really good as well, especially compared to what they had last season imo. This year’s version of LSU is not the end all be all, but it is better than their squad from last year without question. I think the one weakness that this year’s team has which will end up costing them is their mental makeup. Not ideal to have someone like Reese as your de facto leader….They are always going to be one step away from an on court meltdown if they don’t get their egos and attitudes adjusted. That portal C/F is way more than hype. Jackson is probably an equal defender to Reese, maybe even better since Reese takes plays off. But without questionReese is the better rebounder. So the question is which is the better offensive player? Jackson is a much better shooter without question. Reese is better around the rim. Let’s call it a push. The national spin is that Reese is a NPOY candidate, I don’t see that tbh, but I am biased because I don’t like her mannerisms and attitude on the court.I’m sticking to my order. Rickea J is the 1.
It took awhile for the coach to even figure out how to fit this ELITE player in the system.
RJ could score 30 a night.
Unless UConn's starting frontcourt (Juhasz, Edwards, Griffith) dominate on both sides of the ball, I don't see how they can beat Tennessee. Assuming no Fudd/Ducharme...possibly Patterson, they don't have anyone worthwhile on the bench to sub in. Just DeBerry who has been unimpressive and a D3 emergency backup. Lopez Senechal is a great scorer but she can't play defense and will likely be guarding Horston. If she gets in foul trouble, they have no perimeter threats. Muhl is not a scorer. Not a great way to get a win, but I fully expect that it will be a win nonetheless. LSU...I don't know. In my opinion, they looked pretty good. They can get sloppy, but they are relentless on the boards and Reese is pretty much unstoppable. If their guards are making shots, they will be a tough out for any team out there. Even if they haven't proven it with their schedule, I think they pass the eye test as a top 5 team. It will probably come down to rebounds and which pair (Jackson/Horston vs. Reese/Johnson) has the better game. Wildcard matchup will be Tess Darby vs. Jasmine Carson.Seems like Angel is ready to play us! Their crowd was rowdyyyy for the Arkansas game! Where did Mulkey get all those people from!

Johnson is playing SF, not PG. Last Tea Poa (great name!), Alexis Morris and Ketari Poole (from OSU) all share PG duties. Morris is the scoring threat, Poole is the defensive stopper and Poa runs the offense the cleanest. The fresh

So, she, Morris and another kid goes up in the stands celebrating with fans with time on the clock. I would think that would be a technicalShe is a real drama Queen, showboat and the wrong kind of leader imo….did you see the technical they gave her? Her antics are something….great player for sure, but I can’t wait for her game with SC.
From what I heard, she contacted Tennessee and the staff told her no. Great player, but she’s too muchReese is toxic, how many teams really went after her on the portal. As much of a diva/drama queen as Reese is, I haven't seen anything to suggest that she's at the level where her presence would be cancerous to the team. Someone mentioned the disparity in shots between her and the rest of the team, but I think that's less of her ball hogging and more of her work on the offensive glass and putbacks.
The starting 5 plus Samaya Smith, Morris and Poole is a really talented nucleus.
