Non-Lady Vol Game discussion

McCowan probably knows that she has a real chance to be a top 4 WNBA pick next year if she stays and gets another year of experience. At the rate she's improving, I think she's a legitimate NPOY candidate next year. I doubt she leaves early unless like you said, State goes on a tear and wins it all. Next year might be good for her because she will have some talented size to play with, but they lose all of their experienced shooters.

I don't think she leaves either, I was just throwing it out there that she has the age to do so and this year's draft which once was considered strong has lost a little flare with a few injuries or players having down seasons in a sense.

You also get coaches who over recruit in hopes of being able to "force" a kid out for someone else

As I stated I don't think she's leaving but you never know

I think this WNBA draft will be pretty good. The two Tennessee seniors, SC's Wilson, two Texas starting guards, Louisville's Hines Allen, two UConn seniors, OSUs Mitchell/Mavunga/Harper, Vivians and William from State, Hillsman, Scaife from Rutgers, Diamond...that's just off the top of my head from higher profile programs. Good mix of quality front court and backcourt players.

Unlike last season, there are a lot of players here who I think will have good pro careers.

A few will have good pro careers but their stock isn't as high as it was heading into the season.

Will they be selected sure but some wont guy as high as previously thought.

William wont go until 2nd or 3rd round, so will Harper, Hines-Allen, and Hillsman, one of the 2 UConn seniors is projected 2nd round but will probably go first because she played at UConn (Nurse), Lexie Brown and Greenwell at Duke have dropped as well

Canada and Billings (who you forgot to mention) will be mid to late 1st rounds.

If McCowen choses to (or is forced to) leave early at 6'7" she jumps ahead of everyone with the exception of Mercedes, A'Ja, Diamond, Mitchell and possibly Jaime (who has raised her stock and is certainly in the discussion as a top 8 selection)

We shall see though still too early to tell.

Yes the draft is still loaded but players who many originally thought was sure must haves have dropped a little bit.

Maybe this will make some of us feel better: #3 Louisville crushed #2 Notre Dame 100-67. Louisville is 19-0 and Durr scored 34.

Louisville was shooting something like 70% for most of this game. They were on fire. Poor ND, not sure what they could have done with the way Durr and Hines Allen we're shooting.

A’ja Wilson Injures ankle at the last 16 seconds of the game versus Auburn.

A'ja Wilson hurt her ankle in the last minute of the Auburn win. Questionable for Sunday's game? She had to be helped off the court...

Since joining the ACC in 2013-14, Notre Dame has won four straight ACC regular season and tournament titles. This year feels different. Will be an interesting finish.

Dawn said postgame that it's just a sprain, and A'ja won't practice Friday, but expects that she can probably play Sunday.

Not that I fault any coach but Teirra McCowan has been staying in games late with hefty leads... has anyone else noticed this ? It’s a 28 point lead with 4 plus minutes left... OH, Vivians and Schaffer are in there with Johnson so that’s 4 starters on the floor. Then McCowan came down and slipped... SMH... I guess they go 6 deep but.

Under 3 min they are still in the game with a 30 point lead. Out of the game with 2:40 remaining.

Vic had been testy during this game. I don't think he's happy with how they're playing. Seems he's trying to get them running some plays with efficiency.

Surely no one is surprised? Too many combo guards and wings in the team, with the top rated guard coming in next year. She was destined to spend most of her career on the bench.

#16 five star (hoopgurlz). Can’t blame her for wanting to play! She should help some team ?

She was committed to UCONN for a while didn’t even mention other schools she was considering out of high school. If she enrolls in a new school for Spring classes she’ll be able to play next year right?

Has anyone watched Louisville this year? Are they for real...?

The game vs. Notre Dame wasn't their norm, but they're still really good. Passes well, shares the ball, good chemistry and communication. Not sure they beat UConn, but it wouldn't surprise me if they repeat the ND performance.

# 18 Arizona State Sun Devils just lost to # 22 Oregon State Beavers with only 4 turnovers. 57 - 54 Oregon State had 15 turnovers.
