Not bashing Tee Martin, but

Who cares, He won NC with peyton's team. He's not a VFL, Him and Jay Graham can both GTH

I see the Peyton worshippers are at it today. Tee Martin won a national championship with a team that Peyton Manning didn't win the national championship with.

If U$C doesn't retain Tee Martin on the staff beyond this season, then he'll find work somewhere else.

Since you are obviously an insider to the family what will Tee do if not retained by USC (highly unlikely). Wait tables? be the WR coach at a local high school? Or will they move where he can get paid several hundred thousand a year to be a D1 staff?

The wife thing is a ridiculous excuse. He was a good QB but has no loyalty and to me that is a sign of less then optimal character. They will move for HIS job.

That's garbage. You're a fan, while, on the other hand, this is Martin's career, his life. Calling out him as a person of low character because he didn't coach at the program you're a fan of is utter trash.

Tee is smart. He knows you gotta make money to support his family and children. I am just saying, people can't bash someone for having their loyalties toward family over their alma mater because that sounds silly.

It seems the majority of people on here are not married. Reason saying this is one of the reasons Tee stayed at Usc was because of his wife, she is trying to build a career in acting. Now I am not saying this is the only reason he stayed out there, but I commend him for supporting his wife in this and would not be suprised if he didn't stay on the west coast somewhere to continue this. He helped UT win a national championship while here, but as usual that's not enough for this fan base No sir mister Martin you have to jump when the fan base says jump or we will call you a traitor or what ever.
Well Tee I for one greatly appreciate what you did while you were here and feel you have paid our great university back plus some. I am sure he is still a vfl and always will be, but does he owe this university or especially this fan base anything else. .?.. NO!!! I hope him and his FAMILY have a great and wonderful life NO MATTER WHERE IT IS.
You know DJ???

just turned 50....I don't want him back, I'm big on loyalty, sorry man, your opinion my opinion, thats all

One could say Tee was loyal to USC for giving him the job. I do seem to remember Tee wanting to come home when he was at Kentucky. The previous coaching staff blew him off. So I guess Tennessee wasn't loyal to Tee. See it works both ways.

I feel very bad for him. He uprooted his family to move to the West Coast. I guess I never realized that wanting Kiffin to fall right on his face meant Tee, one of the greats at UT, to also end up in a bad situation. My only wish? To see Tee be interim!!!

Good Luck Tee. Bring her on home to Rocky Top next year!!!

I think he is going to be a "stay at home dad" while his wife continues on her music career.

That makes no sense. My wife wants to be an astronaut, but I am not uprooting my family and moving to Houston.

So you would uproot your family to coach for your alma mater even tho everyone in the family wasn't on board with you?

Geez, he turned down a job offer at UT. You guys make it sound like he donated a million dollars to Alabama..

Negative. When his alma mater needed him the most, he turned his back on them. What's the ole' saying...."Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me."

WTF??? Dude has a contract to make 2x as much as we offered. Selective memory on your part in that you conveniently forget that Tee was practically begging for a job here just one year prior and Dools didn't even return Tee's phone call. The fact that he considered coming back at all last year speaks volumes, throw in family concerns. 600k >>>>>>> 300k when you have numerous kids.

I love my job, and am extremely loyal, but if the opportunity to put my 3 kids thru college with 1 years paycheck then you can bet I'd take it. Providing for your family always trumps your school ties.

tee will get some fat severance payout and lay out a year--then he'll get a QB or receivers job at a decent program, making six figures

Well I guess we know who wears the pants in the Martin house. So did they move to LA to pursue her interest or for him to coach under the punk?

Because Dooley didn't want him. He wanted to be here, called, and practically begged to come back but our brilliant former coach didn't want a popular former, NC winning QB on the staff.

It's like frat wars or something. Life goes on after college, especially if it involves your livelihood, as opposed to satisfying the demands of ungrateful fans.

Geez, guys!
Tee is still our NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTERBACK. Peyton's team or not, TEE got it done.

The ONLY thing Kiffin can do is talk a mean game and Tee fell for his line of BS.
I don't feel you can really bash him so much for that.
I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
Tee is our Championship QB...VFL!!!

Some fans resent the fact that it was Tee and not "you know who" who won the NC. It has been that way since Jan of 1999. The two QBs with the greatest winning pct in TN history, and they can't get over it. We had one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game, and also have an NC. Still not enough since it wasn't Peyton's trophy too.

I was disappointed when he didn't come here too guys but damn ya'll are some whiners....The dude made the decision he felt was best for him, not the members of volnation, get over it. If he's not retained he'll find work elsewhere, everything I've read about him says he's a great assistant.

How exactly does everyone just KNOW it was his wifes fault? I never saw that anywhere but on here.

I wouldn't feel too bad for Tee. In a historically horrible economy with very high unemployment the last few years he has gotten raise after raise. He went from 165,000 to 180,000 to 205,000 at Kentucky and then to 300,000 plus at USC. If the next coach at USC doesn't retain him, there will be many schools lining up to give him more money to coach for them. Poor guy.....

I don't want him back. He needs to stay in LA and let his wife work on her career. You can't bail on her after 1 year- the success rate of over aged singers/actresses is in his favor.
