Not bashing Tee Martin, but

That's garbage. You're a fan, while, on the other hand, this is Martin's career, his life. Calling out him as a person of low character because he didn't coach at the program you're a fan of is utter trash.

The ones that love UT come home when called. Period.

Hey Tee .... see ya I sure would not want to Be ya. He slept with a dog now he has to live with his choice. Hows them fleas ... are they bitting your behind....feel? he turned us down now he is out on his own. No more support for him as a Tenn Fan. If your family needs you and you turn your back on them .... well what happens hard feelings and it will never be the same.

Hey Deliverance, Tennessee turned him down when he wanted to come back. We turned our back on him first.

+1

And we had room for him. They don't let facts get in the way of living vicariously through the accomplishments of others to satisfy their own self-centered existence.

And they conveniently neglect to mention the same Peyton euphoria when they were so sure he was going to finish his career in this state instead of Denver. Martin genuinely likes the city and from all reports, the Kiffins treated him and his family very well and with the utmost respect, unlike Hamilton/Dools/UTAD administration who didn't have the courtesy to return his calls.

just turned 50....I don't want him back, I'm big on loyalty, sorry man, your opinion my opinion, thats all

So you prolly have had 5 wives then huh? If you can't respect someone for making a job choice with input from his family, then you are not better than the trash that is calling for Butch's head 5 games in. You would obviously rather have Tee Martin be loyal to UT than his family..... Speaks volumes about your character cracker a$$

when peyton retires in a few years, will he do private business, the TV gig or consider coaching at UT?

Kiffin wasn't exactly poopin' in tall cotton when Tee made his decision to stay aboard the Lane train.

It's a darn shame that Volnation is so saturated and besotted with people who are just plain hateful and spiteful. Not to mention ignorant. His wife had an entertainment gig or something and objected to moving to Tennessee. Anyone who is married to a strong-willed wife knows a woman can make your life miserable and beyond under certain circumstances. Just try working all day and part of the night, come home to a grumpy unhappy wife and see how long you last. Peace has its virtues even when it pisses off fans who don't have any darn sense. Nor care about their heroes unless they practically kneel to kiss your crack just because you say so. No wonder folks elsewhere look at Tennessee people as dumb hicks. Especially when so many act like that's exactly what they are. What's funny in a non-humorous way is that an ex-Viking player (kicker) from some European nation this recent summer stated that America is a nation of haters. This ticked me off big time. But seeing so much of it on the board, I wonder if he has it right after all, at least as far as it applies to Tennessee fans.

Seriously when has Kiffin ever succeeded as a HC, Tee Martin should have been wise enough to know better.... T Marin will find a job, he will be ok. He had a great opportunity offered to him here, he turned it down. Family decision. Hate it for him. Interim pay? I don't think so Tim

Good post. This board does have a lot of haters Very sad but it reflects the shape of our country.

The irony of the situation is Tee and his wife will most likely end up elsewhere besides cali ....

I don't want him back. He needs to stay in LA and let his wife work on her career. You can't bail on her after 1 year- the success rate of over aged singers/actresses is in his favor.

Because of people like you, I hope he gets hired at UCLA or Stanford, end up having 2 or more top rated QBs and WRs following him. Saying they wanted to go wherever he went. And telling us he wanted to return to Tennessee until he saw the venom people like you spewing on VN. Much as I love my Vols, I hope it happens just so you folks choke on your own hate. :realmad:

I'll always love Tee! He is welcome in Knoxville anytime as far as I'm concerned. Kiffin is a snake oil salesman and Tee fell for it- so did we. Tee is VFL!

Yeah, you can see his wife's website, the background is even VOL orange, but you will need to use the Wayback machine to do so.

I am not questioning his reasons, those are his and his alone, but it is not like his wife is seriously working on her career.

If I were Butch, I would give Tee another call and try to get at the head of the line in terms of trying to secure his services. Many of Butch's coaches have been with him for several years but there is no guarantee that there will be no turnover whatsoever from this year's coaching staff. Despite the fact that our instate recruiting base is improving, you can never have too many excellent recruiters with SEC ties on Tennessee's coaching staff.

Who cares, He won NC with peyton's team. He's not a VFL, Him and Jay Graham can both GTH

Ok first off saying a guy is or isn't a vol for life sounds gay as he!! . Second Tee Martin not only played for but brought a National title to the university of tennessee. He made a career decision not to coach here. Get over it. He is and always will be a huge part of tennessee history, and you will be that guy on a message board crying over a career decision made by someone you don't know.smh

Tee is one of my favorite Vols of all time. He played hard every time he took the field and while I didn't like his decision, no one knows what all he contemplated before making it.

There's some grown in men in this thread acting mighty childish at the moment. Tee Martin is and will always be a Vol, and with what we know about Coach Jones' respect for former players and coaches, I would be shocked if he hasn't already given him a call. I hope Tee comes home, but if he stays there or goes elsewhere I wish him the best of luck unless his team is playing Tennessee.
