Notice of Allegations Released!

BP and UT will be punished more for him being stupid with this deal bbq deal, than Calhoun and Uconn will be for blatantly cheating, covering it up, and gaining a competitive advantage while cheating. They also know from conflicting statements and interviews that Calhoun is lying when he pleads ignorance. BP gained no competitive advantage by having 3 committed players over. It's all just jacked up, but is 100% BP's fault.

Did I hear something back in September about the coaches using 'dollar store pre-paid' phones?

That rumor circulated around the internet for a couple of days, but nothing in any AD letter or NCAA letter has ever mentioned it.

It was passed around by a couple of individuals on here to try to stir up nonsense. (I've blacked out their names as they are current posters).

I didn't know Chris Low posted on here. Keep thinking you know everything.

NCAA representatives are checking, in part, excessive telephone calls and the use of unauthorized phones to contact recruits, sources told ESPN.com Thursday.

I find it interesting that you responded. Either way, don't believe everything you read.

However, I had forgotten that it was reported elsewhere so my apologies to you.

I responded to point out that your little know-it all response was complete garbage. And, you don't know that they didn't use them; we just know that there wasn't enough evidence for an NCAA finding.

I'm far from knowing it all, never claimed to be that. But don't try to act like this isn't the first time things have been pulled out of thin air around here to try to enforce a point. I had remembered seeing it floating around here and forgotten that ESPN had (wrongly) printed it as well. It's as simple as that.

Regarding the not enough evidence, you don't know if there was any evidence at all either.

Good point. We also don't know for sure whether they're aliens.

What if our coaches are all aliens? Should we fire them in that case? I say keep them for the novelty of it.

Well, apparently you are claiming that, as you are saying Chris Low was incorrect in reporting that the 'AA was investigating the use of unauthorized phones. And nothing was pulled out of thin air. It was pulled off of the biggest sports network in the world.

Well they've obviously not brought the technology (that is at least 14 years old mind you) to suck the talent out of the best players in the world to harness for our good so I say yes!

You mean like people saying Pearl contacted the NCAA after he lied in the interview to let them know he lied and to come clean?

I understand the point of your post. What I'm saying is that the use of unauthorized phones was at the center of the investigation. The fact that there was not a finding simply means there wasn't enough evidence to prove it, not that they conclusively did not engage in the activity. The use of disposable phones is pretty hard to prove; that's why they're used.

I have no idea how that is relevant to what I wrote.

There's some serious post nitpicking going on around here today. Like I said, it wouldn't be the first time people pull things out of their rear-ends around here, I would assume all would agree on that. I also stated that ESPN had gotten their facts wrong on this one. If someone has anything factual to prove that is wrong, I would like to see it.

That's exhibit (A) of pulling things out of your ass.

Read the sentence I wrote right after that one.

We have no reason to believe that the ESPN thing was not true other than what a fat assistant coach's suck up buddy says. You have nothing to show us that they did not investigate it. Just face it.

Why would I have to give you something that shows they DIDN'T investigate it? I'm fairly certain they didn't investigage them for murder, arson, speeding or jaywalking either, do I have to show you that as well? If you want to provide something that supports your view other than that I'm willing to re-evaluate my stance.

Some day you're going to have to come up with some new material as well.

The point is, it was widely reported that they were investigating it. Nothing has come out that that was incorrect. And you showed your vast knowledge of the issue by claiming that it was a rumor started by a couple posters on here.

That's just stupid. It's not my fault your ego is hurt because you had no clue that that was even being investigated.

"The overall bad is that the basketball program is charged with 8 major allegations and one major for the University for failure to monitor that sport. It's a pretty aggressive set of allegations handed down by the NCAA. And based on what type of punishments have been handed to other schools for similar transgressions, it seems pretty clear that the basketball staff misleading the NCAA is seperating them from other schools in similar cases."

Looks like everyone can stop the it was only one violation to UCONN's eight talk.

Well, Hubbs got it wrong. IA hadn't heard it yet.
