Obama: “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money…”

Well, I understand Vols520's point. Don't necessarily agree with it, but that's ok.

I do, however, think turning it into right and left wing talking points and making it a right vs. left thing is part of the problem with political discourse nowadays. He has a personal opinion and that doesn't make him a left-wing nut. There is a time to flame away at the nutbags on both sides, I just don't think it applies in this instance.

Just my opinion. :)

exactly, especially since i am republican.

The Cumberland and the Tennessee are getting a workout. If it keeps this up they will merge together somewhere around Columbia.

Sycamore Creek is rivaling the Tennessee at the moment

Extremely moderate with strong chrisktian faith.

after 20 years of listening to Jeremiah Wright's garbage, Obama probably doesn't know what actual Christian faith entails.

the same goes for him being a moderate, he spoke like a moderate to get elected, but he's governed from somewhere to the left of Jimmy Carter.

Carter is as moderate as they come.

There is this new literary device that starts with an s and ends with asm...

I was raised in a house where my dad got visibly upset when carters name was mentioned.

Don't take it too far. No one is saying your earnings should be capped. But even T. Boone Pickens agrees that he should pay more in taxes than his secretary, but that isn't how the tax system is set up.

When did T. Boon Pickens take up Warren Buffet's arguments?

i assume you are refering to buffett and the only reason why buffett is paying a small % of taxes than his secretary is because a) his secretary is very well paid and b) buffett structures berkshire specifically to avoid taxes. so basically the biggest tax cheat in the country is arguing he doesn't pay enough taxes. brilliant.

what buffett fails to mention is that the average rich person doesn't have 95% of his net worth in a public company which doesn't pay a dividend. in other words yes he doesn't pay a lot of taxes, but extrapolating that onto the rest of the rich is ridiculous.
