For most it is just a reason to be alert even if true. Islam teaches a different approach to gov't... even the moderates... than the traditional US approach. Even the moderates will usually contend that gov't should give deferrence to Islam.

What you should do as an apologist is demonstrate factually and rationally why these policies will work here when they've failed everywhere else they've ever been tried.

I actually like it. It wouldn't be healthy if there weren't disagreement. Genuine grass roots conservatives are yanking on the leash. The sooner the GOP is purged of the Arlen Spectors of the world... the sooner we'll start moving in the right direction.

And before you head off on another delusion... IF the GOP becomes a genuinely conservative party rather than Dem-lite then they'll start winning the Senate seats in the Red States... and have a permanent 60 seat majority since there are at least 30 red states. They will also have or be close to having the same in the house since more than half of all congressional districts are considered "red" districts.

These numbers have been in place for awhile now but the establishment "progressive" wing of the GOP fears real conservatives more than Dems do.
