Ortiz finally homers! Tek hits 2, Bay & Lowell each with jacks. Penny goes 6 strong innings. Very very solid game by the Sox so far tonight.

I kind of like Eckersley in the booth, a nuts and bolts, shoot from the hip analysis, nothing over analyzed or dumbed down.

This team just loves to play @ home, we are finally healthy & were still set to get some key pieces back. Kotsay should be back in a week, that will help out our bench ALOT! Dice-K makes his 1st start since going on the DL tonight ( against Johan Santana ), & John Smoltz made his 1st rehab assignment last night & looked great expect him back in late June. Our starting rotation is finally getting it together, we have had 5 great outings in a row. Hopefully Dice-K can keep that up tonight. Now if only Ortiz can start stringing some hits together this team would be clicking on all cylinders.

What a game today. Down 5-3, and end up getting 4 runs in one inning.

We won the ball game 12-5. Also, a rain delay put the game off after the Mets part of the inning.

Also, we've moved into 1st place by a half-game after the Braves beat the Blue Jays.

Watched bits & pieces of this game. I stayed in a cabin this weekend with a bunch of friends & they wanted to watch the Indy 500 race insted of the Red Sox game. So i had to flip back & forth between the two. Glad Wake picked up another W though. Papi is still struggling, i really think enough is enough. We need to start finding a solution.

Alas, the Sox win again, against the Twins, 5-4.

Penny pitched real well again yesterday, he was also sick. Francona said Penny was throwing up in the dugout in between innings. Glad to see our offense swung the bats well again. Lowell had a real good day DH'ing.

With each outing for Penny he is raising his stock for trade bait, im just torn between what we should trade him for. Do we try & solve the SS problem by picking up a good defensive SS or do we find a good bat to help with this lineup out? I still have high hopes for Lowrie being our solution at SS & we still have Mark Kotsay due to come back that could help with our lineup. The Sox have alot of options to play with hopefully Theo can make the smart move.

Lester is getting the start tonight, his last outing was really good. He promised he would start pitching good. We have had a good string of good outing's by our starters & we def need that to help out our BP.

Anyone worried about Papelbon? He just hasnt been hisself at all this year.

Buchholz threw 8 perfect innings in the minors and Smoltz pitched a rehab start... more pitching on the way

by the way... lester? really?

Up until recently i didnt believe or want to believe Ortiz could have or would use roids, i thought it was just the product of him getting old. But after looking @ the stats & listening to other peoples opinions im starting to lean toward the fact Papi could have used roids.

Bill Simmons - It's hard to say goodbye to David Ortiz - ESPN The Magazine

Interesting article by Bill Simmons from the upcoming issue of ESPN Magazine. He speculates that Ortiz might simply be older than he says he is, like several other Dominican players in the past. I'd never even considered this.

Very good game last night by the Sox, Lester had a perfect game going through 6 innings but had it broke up in the 7th. That is probably the most dominant i have ever seen Lester pitch. We despertaley need Beckett & Lester to hit their strides right now. Those 2 could carry this team on there backs to a division title. Also Papi homered again last night, but if it had been at any other ball park it probably would have been a fould ball. We have to solve our SS ASAP! Lugo has cost us so many games this year.

Ortiz homers again against the Yanks, thats 2 homers in 1 week. He now has a 7 game hit streak going. Maybe he is breaking out.

We can only hope.

I've been out of the loop for a while now. Need to start catching games again.

Didn't happen though. Sox 8-0!!

Yea it def did happen, i really didnt expect us to take the last 2 of that series. Idk why but for some reason we just know how to play the Yankees now, to bad we cant play like that against the Rays. The Rays own us!!
