If a US player got bit by this dude, I could see them punching him in the mouth.

I understand that he's world class, but at some point, this stuff becomes a distraction and problem. If they sell him for a good price, I'm all for getting rid of him. Buy some other quality players with less hassle and headaches. Sterling and Sturridge will lessen the blow as well.

It sure didn't seem like a distraction when he missed almost 1/4 of the season due to suspension and then almost carried them to their first title in 25 years. I doubt he's going anywhere before the start of next season, though. Personally, if I were you, I'd rather deal with the "distraction" and play in the CL than be free of distractions and go back to finishing 8th every year.

Yes, because Liverpool would just sit on the money they get from the transfer. They could revamp the entire backline and buy another striker and be a contender day one w/o Luis.

The idea of turning one world-class player into a handful of good ones was pretty much the thinking when Spurs sold Gareth Bale this past offseason, and that worked our horribly for them. Not to say for certain selling Suarez would turn out the same for Liverpool, but a lot of times a bird in the hand is worth two (or more) in the bush.

LOL, you guys are all looking in the wrong place if you think FIFA is going to do anything reminiscent of "right" or "fair". I'd seriously put my money in him getting off a technicality similar to football replays that lack indisputable evidence. Sure, we can add up what happened by seeing Suarez head burying into Chiellini's shoulder and bite marks appearing immediately after, but there's no replay where that actually shows his teeth biting down. That's probably how FIFA will play their hand on this one.

No joke.

Ideally Suarez should be sent home, but the most I see FIFA doing is a one match ban.

FIFA is such a worthless and corrupt governing body that they can't even hand out a one match ban without looking like outrageous hypocrites. Doing so is effectively saying, "We won't tolerate players biting one another on the pitch, but for the right sum of money we are willing to tolerate a racist, homophobic country effectively using slave labor to stage our marquee event." As long as Qatar is still on track to host in 2022, FIFA has moral authority on anything.

The ideal resolution would be for the Uruguayan FA to send him home and put the matter to bed, but I highly doubt we see that.

What a complete travesty that Ivory Coast just got eliminated on such a terrible penalty call. I feel really bad for them. They've had a solid team for nearly 10 years and have never seen the knockout stage thanks to twice drawing into the Group of Death and then getting cheated by the officials this year.

Soft penalty, but not completely unjustified. Still sucks for Ivory Coast and I'm not excited about seeing Greece progress.

FYI, if anybody in here hasn't seen the 30 for 30 "The Two Escobars" on ESPN, it's coming on ESPN2 right now and it's really good.

At least one African team has made it to the knockout rounds every World Cup since Spain '82. I think Ghana and Nigeria have progressed the furthest.

Still a bit gutted for Ivory Coast, though. I think they had the potential to be the best African team in history, but out of the World Cup at the group stage yet again, on top of heartbreak after heartbreak at AFCON.

Not to mention Yaya and Kolo Toure's younger brother just died less than a week ago. For no other reason than that I would have liked to see them move on.

That wasn't a bad call. Just unfortunate.
Yep. Samaras was taking a clear shot on the frame, and was impeded. Soft, yes, but still legitimate. I don't feel like the Ivorians got jobbed in this match. Just unlucky. That's been their tune going on a decade now.
