I'm glad because he won't be starting this year.

The Whitecaps and the Red Sox faced off today which means some Vols were going to be playing against each other. Lee ended up in the DH role for the Caps and AJ (SS) and VJax(LF) for the Sox.

Lee went 1 for 4 on the day, while VJax went 1/3 with a run. AJ went 0/4.

Team USA just lost 7-5 to the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plains League. Stewart led the team again:

5 AB, 1 R, 3 H, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 1 GO, 1 SO

I don't see how Stewart can't make the team.

You can look at the number of strike outs and tell Serrano has good stuff. He just needs to pound the zone and work ahead.

Four innings of hitless ball...weird game...too many walks but, still a weird game.

Looks weird. What do you think our rotation and pen look like?

I think Andy Cox is a starter. I think Hunter Martin is a starter. Based on watching Lee and K.Serrano this summer, I feel more comfortable with Lee as a starter than Serrano, that could change over the next four weeks.

I'm not going to make a prediction on any of the new guys, the good thing about baseball is the practices are usually open, so I'll be checking those guys out.

Obviously you've got some guys, Lenny, Marks, Bettencourt, Charpie, Martin, Peterson, Grotz but honestly I don't know where all those guys are at, I haven't been able to watch all of them and it's just tough to figure that out at this point.

The pitching is really the least of my worries for next season and that's a first in the CDS era for me.

Lee looked very good as a closer. I would like to see Lenny in that role for a little if lee starts.
We both know atleast one newcomer on each side will step up.

JYB getting a start in CF for the Anchorage Bucs in game #2, batting 9th...he walked in his first at bat. They are playing the Goldpanners and they have a stream that's pretty good. Don't know if I'll be watching the whole game, but you guys can...I'll try to update the stats tomorrow.

I forgot to mention, last night after the game, coach Taylor said that Serrano was doubtful before the game due to food poisoning...he pitched anyway, it was probably the last chance he was going to get before CDS returns home. It wouldn't surprise me if more than a few of them were sick too, not a pretty game all around. Anyhoo...
