The friction is already there and has been there for hundreds of years. So you think England should succumb to the whims of the Scots. If they are going to separate they will not just because of EU membership. But alas they will probably never let them go unless another William Wallace.

The brexiteer government can’t pass a deal. Basically, they left something to a referendum which shouldn’t have been left to a referendum, and now they’re trying to avoid the consequences.

Why should it of not been a referendum? It was the peoples choice and the govt responsibility to implement.

Honestly, I’m kind of glad.

If this was a TV show, this would be the final scene of the penultimate season.

Edit: it’s also possible they’re just saying that to force parliament to act.

Why should it of not been a referendum? It was the peoples choice and the govt responsibility to implement.

The same reason we don’t typically have referendum’s on treaties and trade deals, especially before the details are hashed out. It was far too complex to honestly present it to the people.
