FWIW...just saw the SC clowns at Columbus finish their picks and saw the top 25...i know that i am a homer...and that our defense is suspect in the secondary still....but on a neutral field there are probably 10 teams ranked in the top 25 that i believe our Vols could and likely would defeat. Just sayin...I dont care how many ACC teams NCstate beat last year, nor Wake Forest, how many garbage teams BYU or OKst beat etc...they do not have SEC monsters in the trenches...nor a half dozen WR that run 4.4 or better in the 40 like we do. We beat those teams more times than not...its just SEC athletes and decent coaching.

I fully understand why we get no respect. 1 year removed from 3--7....2 years removed from the onĺy 8 loss season in UT history....we do not YET deserve it. True story ....we lost 3 more games than we won 2010 thru 2020!!!! Doubt we have ever had a losing decade before. We have a significantly more talented 2 deep than 8 to 10 teams ranked higher than us though...most notably at the all important skill positions of QB, WR, and RB....it is time to act like it damnit .

I hope the coaches tell this team every freaking day how the national media doesnt even think they are a top 25 team. That they do not deserve to be ranked at all. I hope we go into Pittsburgh and fecking dismantle that team. They will not quit...they scored 14 unanswered to beat WVU for the 1st time in 11 years. I hope we stomp a fecking mudhole in them. Send a message to the world that the days of beating UT have come and gone. We dont have thw defense to beat the Gumps nor Pups this season. We would have to score 45 points to beat either...maybe more for Bama....and the Gumps have probably the best defensive player in the country on a side that will likely put 7 or 8 guys out of the starting 11 in the NFL. Like last years UGA defense.

Anybody else on our schedule better get 60 minutes of unrelenting pressure on their defense, and a defense that punches above their weight...at least in the front 7. We have talent up front ....but other than Young, Banks and a guy or 2, our talent is very young and inexperienced. Now is the time to grow up and show these clowns what Tennessee Football is all about. Time to earn the respect that their predecessors always had. Between the lines. It is football time in Tennessee damnit. I still think we go 8-4 with a good shot at snagging another win before our bowl game. Should finish the season somewhere between 15 and 20th ranked. No more blowout losses. Lets do this!!

As mentioned previously...Burrell sucked balls. Only 1 CB...a true freshman playing in his 1st ever college game...graded out lower than Burrell. 2 whole points lower IIRC....hope Turnage gets the start vs armPit.

Didnt jump out to me during the game, but Banks...who led the team in tackles etc last season ....graded out worst of ANY player on defense. Perhaps any player period who started the game and played the 1st half good on good? We desperately need Banks to be a stud and leader at LB....we are razor thin at LB. Damnit Bobby.

ECU...unranked...stopped no13 NCSU on back to back goal line stands 2 consecutive posessions...ECU offense turns over on downs...defense gets a HUGE int and returns it all the way down to the 25yard line of NCSU....so 3 stops in a row for ECU defense, giving up ZERO points in the 2nd half....the ECU offense finally scores to make it 21-20 with under 3 minutes to play....despite me screaming to go for 2, they kick the fecking PAT ......and MISS IT!!!! Still trail 21 to 20 now...

ECU defense just stopped them again!!!! Pirates have the ball now with 2mins30sex.

Only need a FG....ECU just hit a screen pass dowm to NCSU. 34yard line with 90sex left. What a dang ball game. FOOTBALL IS BACK BOYS!!!

Edit ...sadly the 15yo looking kid that missed the PAT also just missed a 40ish yard FG with 9 seconds left for ECU to lose by 1 point. Poor kid looked like he was trying his best not to cry. Feel terrible for him...their defense shut out NCSU in the 2nd half

APP state just tied it up 49 to 49 against UNC Tarheel

I'm going to miss CBS and the SEC game of the week on Saturday @3:30. Like all things woke, I'm sure that ABC/Disney is going to totally F up SEC football.

Defense is always the key in football to me. The other guys can't win if they don't score. Putting all your eggs on offense is risky business as you pointed out above - a dropped pass, a missed kick can kill the needed drive; an interception by a great defense can be a total game changer. Unfortunately it seems like these days football "fans" like fast and shiny offenses, and they get bored when great defenses keep the scoreboard from looking like a pinball machine. It's like we've lost the ability to enjoy the play and are just a culture in search of instant gratification. It's all about the destination not about the journey (the game itself).

I was only hoping for the hype of watching the Gators lose their home opener...

But that's fine. The Vols are going to dismantle that defense in a few weeks.

As fine as she is, Lana Rhoades has the same problem many women will find as an issue when they sell sex to the public. They will attract the wrong kind of men who will sleep with them, but will be embarrassed to admit it or the relationship will end once they've had their way for a while.

But I don't think that is Durant's baby. I think the baby us too fair skinned and at this point I can't see Durant having done coke.

It would be interesting if the committee also picked the four teams as selected now so we could see if or how differently this really makes things. If instituted earlier, I'd guess last year Bama and GA would be in the final four - assuming they didn't play each other in an earlier round, and MI and Cincinnati would have been shown up as poor choices sooner in the process. Clemson and ND the year before were "just because" poor choices. Bias and W/L records are a poor way to select "winners". A two loss SEC team can still be a better team than an unbeaten or once beaten team in other conferences.
